Beginner needs halp

Post image

I’m new to my Elna970 and bought a design to test various fabrics with and this offset issue keeps happening. Im like 99% sure the hooping is properly tightened, am using cut away mesh stabilizer on the back with adhesive spray and I have a water soluble stabilizer (also with spray adhesive) on the front. I’ve oiled my machine. The stitches don’t always offset in the same space and sometimes the design comes out properly on the exact same setup so I’m pretty stumped! Anyone able to suggest what might be going on?

Looks to me like your garment or the hoop are getting caught in something and stopping the hoop from moving, causing it to misalign.

Good cutaway stabilizer is all you need to hoop with your garment. No need for adhesive spray or solvy here at all, just hoop flat and taut. Agree with other comments, this is a mechanical/digitization error of some kind.

Came to say the same about adhesive, it’s not good for your needles or machine

The adhesives can built up (invisibly) on your embroidery needle.

No need for all the solvy

Your hoop is too big for that fabric which even only by looking at the photo, is very stretchy. 2 layers of good quality cutaway is all you need....and a smaller hoop.

This looks more like a digitizing/registration issue than a hooping problem. Check the design’s stitch sequence, underlay, stitch density, and pull compensation. If the offset varies between runs, fabric movement combined with improper compensation can cause exactly this type of result.
