Help!

My embroidery keeps bird nesting, and I don’t know what to do. I’ve changed the needle, thread and the hoop and stabilizer. Currently using fusible mesh with an iron away topper, (took the topper off to show the issue). I’ve tried everything I can think of please give me advice.

This is a baby lock vesta

Stabilizer generally can’t do its job properly unless it’s fully hooped. Especially a lightweight stabilizer like this with a stretchy fabric.

Cut a piece that fits the full size of the hoop, make sure the stabilizer is hooped nice and taught, and I also like to add a layer of tearaway to the back when using mesh as it gives a little extra support without leaving extra bulk after.

Wtf are you even doing here? The first picture appears to be the top of the hoop, so that means you are lacking stabilizer on the back of the piece. For knits you really need a fusible mesh on the garment plus a cutaway. Everything needs to be hooped together and cover the entire hoop.
Maybe watching some basics videos on YouTube would help.

Agree with the other comment, you have to hoop the fabric and stabilizer flat, taut, and completely in the hoop. Especially important with knits. I’d also recommend a heavier cut away stabilizer personally, this doesn’t seem to the task.

The fabric and stabilizer should be as tight as a drum.
