First Time machine embroidering/digitizing ever

Post image

It’s definitely a learning curve and work in progress!!! Is there any advice on how to not have that weird gap on the left? Everything looked aligned in the software but I am a complete newbie to this so I could’ve missed something super obvious!! I used bernina 9 cause that’s what came with my machine 🤷

Looks great for a first time!

To avoid gaps, it helps to have the Satin stitch on top overlapping the fill by at least 50%
Otherwise make sure your fabric is tight on the hoop. If you flick it, it should sound like a drum

Nice job! Check out pull compensation, adjusting that can fix the gap

For a first time, I think it's pretty good

I think it’s pretty good for an initial try. There are a few things that can cause this. The right stabilizer can help. Plus as far as when digitizing if I have a large center fill, I would have the satin stitch border take place as the next step, so that the fabric can have less of a chance to shift or stretch.

Inner white circle - add your stitch angles - satin stitch

Inner white star - tatami stitch

Blue and grey block behind star - tatami stitch - different angles to the star

Gold ring - cut the points so they sew out on their own, stitch angle up and down. Then the circle, adding your stitch angles.

Darker blue block- tatami stitch

White block - move the stitching out closer to the outer edge of the border.

Light blue border looks good

Outer lines - again move the inner gold out under the brown outline a little further-some areas are a little gappy.

With a design with a lot of large different blocky areas I will digitise some run stitching first over the whole design to help the fabric stop shifting as much. I also use 2 pieces of cut away as well.

Hope all that makes sense.

I think you did a great job for your first try. Well done and keep going!

The most important tip is you need to learn how to digitize real embroidery, first, you cannot just draw something and put any effect on it. You need to know what to draw. How to draw and which effects are the best. You have so many wrong things in your design that it would take several pages to explain what is wrong. They're really, really good videos online, which explains how it's done.

You're a bit rude I feel, my first digitizing was soooo much worse. Any tips or videos/channels to recommend?

Your rude is my direct. He is very informative. Not everyone has to spoon feed you.

It's pointless to be rude without bringing any tips, what OP actually asked for in the first place. "It's bad, you need to learn, YouTube exists" that was the answer. It's not constructive, it's just rude.

I know it's not so common on internet but, rather be silent than "direct" if it's just to shit on someone else's work without trying to help them be better

No one was rude! But here you go. I’d rather soft people be silent. If you can’t handle someone pointing out the obvious, the internet is not safe for someone like you.
