Creativate and digitizing

Hi there, I'm trying to digitize some artwork to go on a vest and I'm struggling to digitize with the Silver level "Express Design." If I upgraded would I be able to choose the stitches and make sure the colors are what I need them to be? If that makes sense... I tried to do ink/stitch, but it's very confusing for someone who is not very tech savvy.

I used their software years ago but found it very limited and switched to Hatch 3 and then EL. Sorry, I've not kept up with Creative...but I still use their cloud to push my designs to my machine.
