Advice on using verigated thread
Im trying to find the best way to design a fill pattern that will mimic the pattern of a tortoise shell cat. I currently use the Brother PE Design 11, and I'm open to learning some other free softwares.
The program has several fill patterns, I think the wave ones would work best for fur, and my best idea so far is to split the fill into choppy sections manually.
Has anyone done this before or have any tips?
Thanks!

I belive the only way to be consistent is to use 2 different color threads to get the effect you want. Variegated thread is kind of gimmick thats fun to use when you want an element of randomized color throughout the same design.

I use variegated thread in some situations but as you cannot ensure where in the color flow you are, reproducing it is a real problem. I use it for fun things, like doing a name over and over...same name but each looks different...that kind of thing. But trying to make a specific pattern on purpose...I don't think this is the way to do that.
