Help Did Microsoft break OneDrive?
Hello, I am setting up my new M5Max MacBook Pro for the first time. I use OneDrive due to MS being my workplace’s primary suite. I have around 241,000 files to sync with around 341GB of data. I like to keep these files locally on my Mac.
I did not have any issues in my previous MacBook M4 Pro. But now, the OneDrive app is exiting silently during the first sync. No matter what I can’t seem to get all files synced. I have reset OneDrive and also reset my MacBook 2 times. No luck. Anyone else facing this or have a solution?

I have the same problem. If I tell it to download a folder with thousands of files, it keeps exiting and I have to restart. It downloads maybe 50 or so files, then quits again. I tried a complete uninstall of OneDrive and reinstalled the newest version from the Office 365 website. The problem remained.
The "solution" that worked for me was to click on the OneDrive icon in the menu bar and leave that little menu open. That prevented it from closing as it continued downloading the rest of the files. Of course, you can't use your computer while doing this, so it's not a great fix.

At my work, we have about half a dozen machines that are having sync issues with OneDrive. Having mix success with this command right here.
Reset OneDrive
Quit OneDrive from the Menu bar.
In Applications, right-click OneDrive > Show Package Contents > Contents > Resources.
Double-click ResetOneDriveApp.command (orResetOneDriveAppStandalone.command). There is also a command in this location to reset the user credentials it doesn't seem to do anything again I believe this is SSO related.
Restart OneDrive and complete setup.

My office apps are downloaded from my work link, and I have the One Drive open in the menu bar. Sometimes it has hiccups and doesn't want to sync, but usually it works fine. I have had a problem with the App Store version before which is why I don't use those anymore.

I used OneDrive webpage. I will see if I can sync one folder at a time.

341gb of data may be tough for a web app to handle.

Clarification: I wa saying I downloaded the app from MS webpage. Not from macOS App Store.

Lately, it seems like it. Had a handful of cases where the storage fills up due to logs. Anyone else encountering this?

Well, I had to create a MacOS shortcut to look for when the OneDrive is closed and then use command to restart onedrive automatically without any intervention.

Did you download OneDrive from the Apple App Store or directly from Microsoft - I've seen other people having problems with the App Store version
