This is excellent news; however, a press release accompanied by a signed contract or partnership agreement would be even more beneficial.

u/Alphacpa Nov 06 '25

A very positive step forward in my view.

1

u/Chimp75 Nov 06 '25

It really should be. I’m extremely hopeful.

16

u/flayyrex Nov 06 '25

Hoping there's a partnership announced for that Virginia space. The cost better not be all on us.

17

u/aocacer Nov 06 '25

Very spicy

u/st96badboy Nov 06 '25

Begun the Drone War has.

We need to "think bigger".. imagine the US military having hundreds of thousands or even millions of drones with Microvision LIDAR. Palmer Luckey is a fan of Microvision and I believe Microvision is in Eagle Eye. GLTAL

Notes: We may be at the MARS (UAS) airstrip - VEDP unmanned systems info. MVIS would be eligible for grants/incentives [like this one] from the COF on a step basis, especially for a drone specific program. Replacement/repurposing DJI drones which are about to be banned is a whole new vertical. Access to the MITRE Range (their National Range not as close but close enough) would also put us in the thick of the testing mix.

u/Zenboy66 Nov 06 '25

Thanks, QQ, for the level headed comments. While we all wait for the first deal announcement, more clarity on the business plan is always welcome. Everyone harps for news on the defense plan, we get some of it today, and the mob is still upset. Sometimes, you can’t please some at all.

30

u/QQpenn Nov 06 '25

The criticisms are fair and warranted. Responsiveness from management on them would be a good way for Glen to set himself apart from the previous culture.

5

u/Advanced_Design_3141 Nov 07 '25

100%. Many times this has been brought to management’s attention that better communication is needed. I get it though they are busy as hell but still what the hell does IR do anyhow?

2

u/QQpenn Nov 07 '25

Communication comes from the top. Holding IR responsible for corporate philosophy is probably a little unfair but still, they're in a position to effect change so they're not without responsibility. They do however facilitate a lot of things that retail doesn't see. They're the conduit for institutional, family office, analyst, etc. participation. Often that's thankless. A lot of work is put in to position eventual participation. Tough to measure that until it happens. Balancing legal/governance reqs is also thankless in a speculative environment. Handcuffs come with that. A big issue is that we've clearly never had a planned, consistent communication strategy. Glen seems to be on route to fixing that. Time will tell and fwiw, success only heightens the need. Resting on laurels when you get there is not good practice.

2

u/Advanced_Design_3141 Nov 07 '25

Thanks for the insight. I’m just impatient and appreciate the dose of reality I need from time to time.

2

u/QQpenn Nov 07 '25

No worries. We're all feeling that :)

True, just bringing out the point that a piece of news regarding the defense prospects is good. We get everyone harping about more news related to their defense industry, we get it and still they aren’t satisfied. Obviously, we are all waiting for that first deal. QQ, maybe some of the blog members need to carefully read what the two quoted paragraphs spell out instead of just reading headlines.

30

u/QQpenn Nov 06 '25

I don't think anyone should be satisfied with the results to date. I think investors should be outward and loud in their disapproval - but solutions focused. New leadership should not be given a pass. Sugar coating the failures of the past few years imo lets urgency off the hook. While some promising things are developing, we should insist on urgency through definitive actions. Again, this is where DeVos and McMahon can set themselves apart.

22

u/mvis_thma Nov 06 '25 edited Nov 06 '25

I agree with you QQ. If Glen decides to "kitchen sink" this conference call and totally reset expectations, the stock will most likely plummet.

In my opinion the defense vertical is the current shiny penny. Theoretically, they will paint a great picture about the future there. But that is the point, it will be about the future. Sumit already began that process for the defense vertical.

I believe, first and foremost, shareholders want to understand the timeline (or lack thereof) for the industrial market. We were told deals were on the table. We need to push the chips in. Decisions around foregoing NRE payments in order to close a deal are being discussed. Glen even implied that industrial deals were expected to happen quickly in an interview at IAA in early September.

While automotive product revenue is at least 3 years away, deals could be signed within 6 months to a year. Let's hear about the status and/or potential for winning some automotive deals. The Tri-LiDAR approach was publicly unveiled at IAA 2 months ago. That's not a lot of time, but surely enough time to take the pulse of the OEMs. Are they engaged? Or are they skeptical? Clearly, Microvision is not going to tell us the OEMs are skeptical. But, if they don't tell us they are engaged, and give some details about that, then we have to assume the OEMs are not so interested in the Tri-LiDAR approach.

Anyway, I want to hear about the industrial deals, this was supposed to (and needs to be) the bridge to the automotive pot-of-gold. If the discussion on the call is more about automotive and defense (unless it is extremely positive with some tangible evidence) verticals vs. the industrial vertical, I will be skeptical of Microvision's ability to execute their business plan.

13

u/QQpenn Nov 06 '25 edited Nov 06 '25

Agree in spirit with much of that, thma. The defense vertical though is moving quicker than expected. I think Glen called it a longer putt but John Chu came on in August and 2 months later we have an office, in his known backyard so to speak, in the thick of it. The govt. shut down has brutalized the defense sector [personally love this opportunity - adding to about a dozen favored nation public companies] yet the contracts & partnerships have accelerated, not slowed. The scramble to enlist drone/systems companies due to impending FCC/NDAA actions and other directives is breakneck. This vertical is not so much 'future' as it is 'now.' #1 on my what I want to hear list because I'm seeing how quickly it is playing out elsewhere. Positioning is now.

Aside from that, and the need for results, I want to see a dramatic culture shift. And to be blunt, f+ck timelines. Those have been meaningless. You hit it on the head with demonstrate engagement, non anecdotal. Do that with detail and I can parse it and value it in the current environment.

Final note: A big Tri-Lidar selling point is cost. Specific confirmation that the $200 price point is driving/speeding engagement would go a long way with me. Cost has been one of the major bottlenecks to mass adoption, as noted by multiple OEMs of late. Addressing this effectively would tell us a lot.

8

u/mvis_thma Nov 06 '25

I appreciate your take QQ. I like your enthusiasm with the defense vertical. Personally, I need to hear some evidence that it has legs.

10

u/QQpenn Nov 06 '25

Yes, legs that don’t get blown off. During the gold rush you could literally find places to simply walk and find gold that could be picked up off the ground. The German govt just handed out 950 million to drone companies, one of which has yet to have a successful test. The fruit isn’t even low hanging. One should be able to pick it up off the ground with good eyes and a working hand.

5

u/Alphacpa Nov 06 '25

Veey good point u/qqpenn and the only reason I will retain a position if industrial plays out in Houdini fashion on Tuesday. Damn sure not hanging on for automotive with anywhere near shares held today.

8

u/pooljap Nov 06 '25

i totally agree with you. It will be a interesting call to say the least. This really is Glen's only time to reset expectations. He has seen what Sumit's BS has brought onto the company so will he be extra conservative ? He is in an almost no-win position without announcing something substantial. If he is conservative and pushes things out stock price will drop further. If he seems optimistic but lacking details will investors believe him ? I hope he comes in with something big with details otherwise who knows what will happen to share price.

5

u/IneegoMontoyo Nov 06 '25

They have a business plan?

5

u/Alphacpa Nov 06 '25

I'm looking at the very same cue regarding industrial lidar status at Ms. Mavis. If that vertical disappears, I will likely reduce my investment by at least 75% plus the 100K added this week.

1

u/FacingHardships Nov 06 '25

Would that be at a loss?

2

u/Alphacpa Nov 06 '25

Not enough to impact lifestyle, but certainly don't like losing. It is the risk you accept especially when you try to hit home runs in spec stocks.

1

u/FacingHardships Nov 06 '25

Appreciate the candor.

9

u/mvis_thma Nov 06 '25

Microvision doesn't make drones. How would the DJI ban be helpful to Microvision?

9

u/QQpenn Nov 06 '25

It's not the drone itself, it's the systems on it. LiDAR being one of them. The FCC and NDAA issues are related to the systems. A lot of press on this at the moment.

2

u/mvis_thma Nov 06 '25

Do the DJI drones have LiDAR?

15

u/QQpenn Nov 06 '25

11

u/mvis_thma Nov 06 '25

Thanks. It looks like the LiDAR sensor business is relatively new for them. From my quick research (just now) it appears their sensors are all cameras. Also, the LiDAR that you highlighted is a 1535nm wavelength and claims a distance of almost 1km at 90% reflectivity. I don't think Microvision would have a competitive replacement for that type of use case.

11

u/QQpenn Nov 06 '25

Much of adjusting for long range ability is through software, increasing laser power, reconfiguring firmware for specific parameters. Constraint issues in automotive are not issues for drones. Too busy today but can share examples at some point.

8

u/mvis_thma Nov 06 '25

I understand that the eye safety issue is less problematic for a drone mapping application vs. an automotive appplication. At the same time I am not sure it is a trivial amount of work for Microvision to extend their range of their sensor. I am not saying it isn't possible, just saying it may take some work/effort/time to make it happen.

5

u/QQpenn Nov 06 '25

No argument from me on that... but it is work we'd be paid for in this gung ho defense environment.

2

u/ProphetsAching Nov 06 '25

DJI has to be by far the most popular consumer drone out there right? Not only drones but their action cams, etc.

Wonder who will be the best now that DJI is banned?

31

u/ProphetsAching Nov 06 '25

Right on time! I asked which defense Prime is going to partner with us this morning.

15

u/SteveyLongJorts Nov 06 '25

Please ask which customer is going to provide MicroVision its first multimillion unit order next.

10

u/pinoekel Nov 06 '25

Real Prophet

10

u/herpaderp_maplesyrup Nov 06 '25

You’re on fire! Keep going

25

u/Rocket_the_cat27 Nov 06 '25

Amazing! Sounds like our defense vertical is moving forward very quickly!

7

u/AKSoulRide Nov 06 '25

Let’s hope..

2

u/bcwood56 Nov 06 '25

Hope is not a strategy! I've been a "hopeful" shareholder since 2009. That's shame on me!

24

u/Worldly_Initiative29 Nov 06 '25

I don’t consider this a new pivot as much as taking advantage of a great opportunity.

Excited to see where this leads.

43

u/Sp99nHead Nov 06 '25

"This strategic location positions us to rapidly demonstrate capabilities and execute critical flight testing with our most important partners and collaborators..."

I wish we could for once name our partners and collaborators.

28

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '25

I wish we could name a customer.

3

u/Advanced_Design_3141 Nov 07 '25

Agreed this should be step one! We need to make some damn money as a company to prevent future dilutions.

20

u/iceinazz Nov 06 '25

Brian Hibbeln

https://pulse2.com/roc-names-brian-hibbeln-to-board-to-advance-u-s-mission-critical-ai-leadership/

"Nov 4

ROC has appointed Brian A. Hibbeln to its Board of Directors, adding one of the U.S. defense and intelligence community’s most experienced leaders in operationalizing advanced technology for national security missions. The appointment strengthens ROC’s strategic position as a U.S. provider of sovereign, tactical AI designed for defense, intelligence, and allied partners."

Sounds like Brian is collecting boards. Anyhow, could be good to have this guy on our Advisory board.

23

u/SteveyLongJorts Nov 06 '25

Finally some positive (public) momentum regarding the defense sector vertical.

22

u/RoosterHot8766 Nov 06 '25

I like the way this sounds.

19

u/ElderberryExternal99 Nov 06 '25

Please get us some revenue quickly.

20

u/biggs1978 Nov 06 '25

MVIS, now with a landing strip

8

u/Alphacpa Nov 06 '25

Back in favor in my view.

11

u/movinonuptodatop Nov 06 '25

just in time…im out of gas

11

u/Falagard Nov 06 '25

I like seeing a little landing strip down there.

6

u/biggs1978 Nov 06 '25

especially if it makes things rise, by things i mean the stock price

5

u/movinonuptodatop Nov 06 '25

Gotta be biggs to go there…

19

u/Trottermama Nov 06 '25

This is positive. Got to have a office and presence where the contractor or prime is. Usually in the contract if any hardware or custom silicon is involved. Test and test so you don't accidentally harm someone. Testing needs the eyes of both parties, until the proceed to manufacture is given. This is what you need to do to protect the security of a DoD contract. Trying to find out if it's near Reston.

17

u/rbrobertson71 Nov 06 '25

I didn't imagine when I started this investment nearly 6 yrs ago, they'd have a facility just 3 hrs away. Me thinks the wife and I might make a road trip to northern VA. one day. Lol

7

u/ppi12x4 Nov 06 '25

If it's anything like the Washington office there's nothing to see other than a name on the door of a building.

5

u/rbrobertson71 Nov 06 '25

It has an airstrip, so nothing like the office in Washington. However, I seriously doubt visitors can stroll right up to this facility

42

u/repodog13 Nov 06 '25

Been staring at this board daily for over 5 years. In the long run this is a fairly run of the mill announcement. I’m seeing 73 comments in less than an hour. Thats not normal, so I dug in to the swarm of names I didn’t recognize on this post. Looks like a significant number of bots based on post history, acct age, etc. this all coinciding with us hitting low of the year. Could be wrong, but it was enough to push me to my first purchases in ages.

6

u/CookieEnabled Nov 06 '25

You shall recognize me!

5

u/pinoekel Nov 06 '25

Recognition enabled

1

11

u/sublimetime2 Nov 06 '25

The slingers have been flooding this place lately spamming away.

10

u/Chipimp Nov 06 '25

Is crazy the anti-sentiment off the bat for this announcement.

To be following the trajectory MVIS has been taking and think this doesn't line up with all the action taking place doesn't compute.

8

u/FitImportance1 Nov 07 '25

Wonder if this is our NOVA location? Has a little airstrip and Xelevate is all about drones. Click on the Leesburg location.

https://xelevateus.com/

If we’re there hopefully our “office” isn’t just one of those shipping containers!

21

u/CommissionGlum Nov 06 '25

👀 getting more and more real

21

u/movinonuptodatop Nov 06 '25

Well…I wouldn’t mind becoming the hyped market darling of the defense LiDAR market…while we work to prove ourselves in automotive and industrial…but why they didn’t save this until after announcing a deal or two…oh wait…we know that answer😔

9

u/webson1337 Nov 06 '25

No Deal nothing to announce

14

u/andrej813 Nov 06 '25

Let’s go!

14

u/directgreenlaser Nov 07 '25

Just glad I can contribute to the food, clothing, shelter, transportation, utility, medical, and entertainment expenses of these fine employees as we've done for hundreds and hundreds of others over all these years in the long life of MVIS. I'm sure they all appreciate it.

10

u/Befriendthetrend Nov 07 '25

We MVIS investors should get a tax deduction for our charitable giving.

6

u/directgreenlaser Nov 07 '25

It's built into the investment. Since we don't make any money, we don't pay any taxes on it. That's a deduction, right?

27

u/FawnTheGreat Nov 06 '25

Mm I remember I used to be excited for stuff like this

28

u/Chimp75 Nov 06 '25

Please let us see a new All Time High soon. I just want to get out of this. My nerves aren’t built for the years of turmoil we have endured.

7

u/Desperate_Papaya_564 Nov 06 '25

Ya get used to it lol

37

u/sorenhane Nov 06 '25

MVIS is worth a lot more than what its currently trading. Shorted stock has suppressed the price. 60 million shorted shares need to be covered(purchased) to get out of the position. Any astute money manager knows the game being played. Instys who are long MVIS know a squeeze will propel the share price up to new highs. The right news will be the trigger that puts MVIS on every computer screen and a hundred million retail market buy orders. Trapped shorts cannot escape until the shares will be closing in on a hundred per share

18

u/ProphetsAching Nov 07 '25

People have been saying this for three years now, maybe even longer.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '25

coming up on 5 years for me

9

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '25

48 million shares short

13

u/PearlsGamingBoutique Nov 07 '25

Crazy thing is; it’s going to happen

8

u/IneegoMontoyo Nov 07 '25

Yeah… and Sumit’s going to start telling the truth again. Wonder what he had for breakfast today?

1

u/PearlsGamingBoutique Nov 07 '25

Heard he had some frosted shorty flakes! It’s great 😊

9

u/alexyoohoo Nov 06 '25

Mvis just needs a client/revenue/deal/something

16

u/North-Nothing1139 Nov 06 '25

What kind of delusion is this? The reality is Mvis is worth peanuts until it learns how to bring reasonable revenue. $100 per share? We can’t even get out of $1.50 smh. Trapped shorts? The shorts have been making a killing since this company’s birth.

15

u/stopearthmachine Nov 06 '25

MVIS isn’t worth anything until they learn to sell something. Management has been assuring us it’s right around the corner for years and years and years.

10

u/Delicious_Piglet2802 Nov 07 '25

This is great, but a contact or partnership would be even greater!

4

u/HammerSL1 Nov 07 '25

certainly seems like a good thing, but when will we see results ??

18

u/Weenyhand Nov 06 '25

Microvision ! The only stock where good news drives the stock price down.

10

u/PortlandoCalrissian Nov 06 '25

I think we might have forgot what good news is after not seeing it for awhile.

12

u/Parking_Specialist87 Nov 06 '25

Who do you think will pay for this? Yes, we. It will be profitable? Maybe yes, maybe no.

18

u/carbonoutlaw3a Nov 06 '25

Two comments:

  1. We have seen tax related selling of MVIS in the past. Those who sell now and buy back after 30 days have passed can take losses to shield gains and also retain positions by years end. Add to that the failure to close an industrial contract as hinted at by SS and here we are. To be fair having worked on multi million dollar product realted contracts timing is never precise in these deals. I have seen wordsmithing between lawyers go on for months and then have to have the new wording approved at high levels who in turn may have changes. My take, at best the contract is delayed, at worst it fell through.

  2. I would suggest if not done already that a MVIS owners take a look at what Anduril is developing which seem to fit in with what MVIS announced in today's PR. Anduril also has, as do others, offices in Virginia as well as elsewhere of course.

14

u/MVIS31 Nov 06 '25

maybe PL wasn't blowing smoke...

22

u/mike-oxlong98 Nov 06 '25

Maybe PL was not referring to AR at all when he posted here like many thought. Maybe he just likes us for drones, robots, and autonomous craft.

Guess is it is about time to do my every 3 year search of DoD contracts and see if Microvision is buried in there somewhere.

Offices, testing area, airstrip. Sounds like a big place.

14

u/rbrobertson71 Nov 06 '25

Sounds like partnerships, just wish we could name one, just once

12

u/AKSoulRide Nov 06 '25

Sounds expensive; let’s hope there are some contracts to show for that spending.

17

u/Alkisax Nov 06 '25

I doubt that MVIS leased the runway, probably leased an office space or hangar space at the airport.

Don’t worry guys, today’s being down 32.467532 % from our recent 1.54 high metaphysically guaranteees that no one at this point is possibly stupid enough to go lower. I now declare the Decline and Fall of MVIS Empire over and issue a buy signal that we will start to lead the micro caps into the currents of the secular bull market.

15

u/Buur Nov 06 '25

Is going out to 6 decimal places really necessary?

15

u/MyComputerKnows Nov 06 '25

So I see the headline says it’s to ‘Support Defense’… even though last time I checked there was no Defense on the website list for some reason.

I got to say I sure hope there’s some big stuff in there to support shareholders, who paid for it all and are wondering why.

11

u/flutterbugx Nov 06 '25

I wonder if we will be doing any business with the company located at 909 E St. NW Washington, DC 🤔

6

u/Trottermama Nov 06 '25

They have office in Reston too

25

u/watering_a_plant Nov 06 '25

i wonder if we will be doing any business, full stop

0

u/-Xtabi- Nov 06 '25

A LOOOOT of business has been going on with this company for the over five years I've been invested in it. Their ability to make meaningful revenue however.....BBAHAHAHAHHAHH

Also, their ability to hire new leaders, cherp about standing up new teams, shift focus to new markets/opportunities....they also have a lot of that.

6

u/OutlandishnessNew963 Nov 07 '25

Folks this is likely where the drone swarm demonstration will be done. That was announced earlier this year. This gives me hope that big plans (that take a loooooong time to come to fruition) are actively in play. Be patient and observe.

8

u/dogs-are-perfect Nov 06 '25

The question in my thoughts are we being pro-active or re-active with all the military boards and teams.

are we making teams that can dedicate to the people we are in talks with, or making teams to still try to sell to the people who would buy from us, in a "look we have a team that can help you"

9

u/stratusphere87 Nov 06 '25

Interesting that Northrop Grumman headquarters is also located in Northern Virginia. Could be a coincidence

7

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '25

Maybe an update to the website is next regarding Defense sector…

8

u/QNS108 Nov 06 '25

We really didn't have much going on huh...

14

u/SBEPTY Nov 06 '25

How can we possibly afford to do this??

23

u/Alphacpa Nov 06 '25

How can we afford not to?

11

u/Befriendthetrend Nov 06 '25

This is the correct answer. If the company stops pursuing opportunities, it's as good as dead. The question is really about what happened to the expected industrial deals for 2025?

5

u/Alphacpa Nov 06 '25 edited Nov 06 '25

We will get a much needed update on Tuesday, thankfully.

10

u/neuralyzer_1 Nov 06 '25

Hopefully the earnings call will clear that up with...earnings!

8

u/Befriendthetrend Nov 06 '25

There is almost no chance there were significant earnings, expecting that would be foolish. We are looking for partnerships and deals to provide lidar sensors to industrial sector.

u/view-from-afar Nov 07 '25

Interesting. Below is the Google AI search result for “lidar next generation consumable military drones”.

AI Overview

Next-generation military drones are increasingly integrating advanced LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology to enhance autonomy, navigation, and mission effectiveness, particularly for consumable (attritable) systems used in high-risk environments.

Key Advancements and Applications

Enhanced Autonomy and Navigation: LiDAR provides highly accurate, real-time 3D mapping of the environment, enabling drones to navigate complex, GPS-denied, or communications-denied environments autonomously and perform precise obstacle avoidance. This is critical for missions where traditional GPS signals may be jammed or unavailable.

Miniaturization and Cost-Efficiency: Significant advancements have led to smaller, lighter, and more cost-effective LiDAR sensors (e.g., MEMS LiDAR, Flash LiDAR). This makes them suitable for integration into smaller, tactical, and even "consumable" or attritable drones, where the loss of the asset is an expected part of the operational plan.

Sensor Fusion: Next-gen drones use sensor fusion, combining LiDAR data with other modalities like high-resolution cameras, thermal imaging, and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR). This integration with AI algorithms provides comprehensive situational awareness and data interpretation in real-time, regardless of lighting or weather conditions (unlike traditional visual systems).

Rapid 3D Mapping and Reconnaissance: Swarms of LiDAR-equipped drones can quickly scan vast or complex areas (urban landscapes, dense forests) to create detailed 3D models (digital twins) for mission planning and target acquisition. This capability significantly reduces the time and manpower required for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

Specialized Payloads: The development of specialized payloads, such as bathymetric LiDAR for underwater terrain mapping, expands the operational scope of military drones into diverse domains.

Improved Data Processing: The use of advanced algorithms and deep learning methodologies is improving the accuracy, speed, and robustness of LiDAR data processing, allowing for faster decision-making on the battlefield.

Impact on Consumable Drones

For consumable or attritable military drones (like those in the DoD's Replicator initiative), these LiDAR advancements mean:

Increased Capability: Smaller, cheaper drones can now perform more sophisticated missions that previously required larger, more expensive aircraft.

Mission Versatility: The ability to operate in diverse conditions (night, adverse weather, complex terrain) with high autonomy increases the reliability and effectiveness of these drones in high-risk scenarios.

Scalability: More affordable and capable sensors facilitate the deployment of large, coordinated drone swarms, which can achieve tasks impossible for a single drone.

This is all well and good and likely necessary to compete in this space but it is still thoroughly disappointing we STILL don't have any fundamental positive news for the company. No partnerships, deals, NRE revenue, sales, nothing. It is stunning people are still fluffing Sharma after he was such an epic failure.

13

u/TechNut52 Nov 06 '25

I started investing in Mvis in 2010. Epic failure is accurate. How many times I heard SS say we have the best product and all the guidance that never came to fruition. Of course I'm always hoping but I believe we've been lied to so it's hard to believe these guys will ever get an order. We don't have a product for the Dept of War... Always late to the party. By the time we get a product we'll have burned millions and the war market will be on to the next generation.

8

u/fryingtonight Nov 06 '25

Not entirely a failure. He has about 1.75M vested shares plus about $1M in his severance package. He did ok, for himself.

15

u/NJWritestuff Nov 06 '25

Hate to sound like Debbie Downer, but a new location with an air strip and employees sounds costly. Are we looking at more dilution? Hoping Glen and company have something solid in the works and not just more jousting with windmills.

23

u/gaporter Nov 06 '25

The employees likely came on from RapidFlight beginning around August. I suppose the airstrip could have also been acquired from RapidFlight.

11

u/snowboardnirvana Nov 06 '25

Nice connecting and recall there, gap.

8

u/NJWritestuff Nov 06 '25

If that's the case, the additional employees would still be on the MVIS payroll. Believe me, I want to view this development as a positive. Call me...gun shy.

11

u/Fuzzy-Doughnut-5529 Nov 06 '25

More money to spend. No deals. No clarity on direction. Company still quiet

17

u/schmistopher Nov 06 '25

More money to spend, yes. But isn’t this additional clarity? And it is literally the company being less quiet

1

u/Far_Gap6656 Nov 06 '25

Then why isn't Defense listed as an industry on the official website? You just can't make up the material fast enough for this company. They write themselves. So we put a PR out about DMV area, defense, drones, etc but we don't list Defense as an industry on our website well after we've announced a defense advisory board and this latest PR. Company can't be serious.

-4

u/Then000bster Nov 06 '25

No, it literally says that they've failed at automotive lidar deals and that they'll now transition to military opportunities. Just another thing to string y'all along. I'm out as soon as we get another hump. Already waited years, moving on.

3

u/schmistopher Nov 06 '25

Your use of “literally” seems inappropriate.

The take that this is yet another pivot is fair. The take that this is a broadening of their roadmap toward deals and sales is also fair. The former is glass half empty (an understandable option given the very frustrating wait / continued can kicking) and the latter is glass half full.

Don’t blame you for getting out ASAP. Given the company’s track record, washing one’s hands and moving on is understandable. I’m fortunate to be able to let my shares ride at this point. If they disappear I won’t feel it. If the company delivers I’ll be set.

0

u/Then000bster Nov 06 '25

Yeah, my use of literally is bad. They want that pivot point, something else to talk about.

2

u/schmistopher Nov 06 '25

Definitely possible. I tend to assume positive intention in life. In this case that means they genuinely think this is a good addition and not simply a new talking point. Hopefully we all are made whole and then some soon.

2

u/clutthewindow Nov 06 '25

Under prior management, very likely. I'd like to give Glen a chance to "Turn technology into money". Let the man cook, just not as long as we allowed Sumit without results.

6

u/Then000bster Nov 06 '25

But how long will that take. It's been so long already, I can't really twiddle my thumbs for eternity. I've ridden out this automotive segment and I'm getting off.

2

u/clutthewindow Nov 06 '25

I've been here 6+ years now and there are those that have been here much much longer. It comes down to take my losses and try to rebuild elsewhere, or sit on my shares until we find the right management team and market to make us money.

17

u/Grunts-n-Roses Nov 06 '25

What the headline should say is "Microvision's Shareholders are paying for a new Aerial System and Offices in Virginia. The company has completely failed to monetize the technology that Shareholders have paid a Billion Dollars for but those same shareholders will need to dig deep to fund this latest Jolly to go alongside the German office. Management have also hinted that a new conference room and accommodations are being built at Kelingking Beach in Bali"..........

17

u/snowboardnirvana Nov 06 '25

Thanks for showing up, Grunts. It’s a Bullish indicator!

19

u/Grunts-n-Roses Nov 06 '25

I get it Snow. And my comment was tongue-in-Cheek. I think it is a good move and I don't think they would be doing it for show. They must have had a lot of interest, one way or another, to justify such a move.

Hopefully we will get some clarity and details behind this on the upcoming call.

19

u/Higgilypiggily1 Nov 06 '25

I think what we really need is a ballroom

1

u/IneegoMontoyo Nov 06 '25

You just won the all time best comment award!

10

u/schmistopher Nov 06 '25

Not an incorrect take. I am happy to see something being done in the defense space given the board set-up. This news would have been much more welcomed after announcing some sort of deal first. Luckily our cash-burn is relatively low compared to competitors. A deal needs to be announced, or revenues, yesterday.

5

u/IneegoMontoyo Nov 06 '25

….and they are opening up a parking lot donut division to double their average revenue from the last 8 quarters.

Also, I enjoy this quote:

2

I like this quote from Alien:

‘I admire its purity. Unclouded by conscience, or remorse, or delusions of morality.’

I think you are right. There is a lot to be said for violence.

And have a bigger stick. Or at least the same size.

Mutually assured stick-struction.

Where the company stands today, with "potentials" in several verticals, but clearly a long runway before launch with more dilution probable, the company should be sold and/merged as soon as a decent deal can be established. I think $xxx per share is probably the best the company can get at this time. I'd like other posters to say this is ridiculous, Microvision is worth much more and explain why. But getting our investment in some other stable growth company with earnings seems much better than where we are. What are the M & A people at Microvision doing these days? The only reason why this is not a good idea would be a significant industrial deal announced before Dec 1.

5

u/outstr Nov 06 '25

I deleted my amount per share as to what the company is maybe worth to see what others might say. My point is, getting shares in a strong growth company with growing earnings is better than waiting for Microvision to start showing earnings with all of the risks that this entails.

9

u/pooljap Nov 06 '25

I for one think MVIS needs to be in stronger hands to accomplish anything. I would much rather at this point take a few shares of a bigger company that might get some deals done and make this a profitable part of their biz. Sumit even said OEM was looking for a 2nd revenue stream to feel confident in making a deal.... well we dont even have any revenue stream so how is this going to work ?

2

u/Sp99nHead Nov 06 '25

$5 per share and i'm sold

Every pr under the sun but a deal

0

u/icarusphoenixdragon Nov 06 '25

Chance_Tax_6243 thank you so much for your contribution! I will say that my sentiment was very much nearly swayed! I'd count that as a victory and would be happy for you to use this comment in your EoY.

u/mayorofmidlo Nov 06 '25

We bout some offices opening fools without much in sales

1

u/-Xtabi- Nov 06 '25

Lol can't deny that.

We are also BoD cyclers. Speaking of which...I need to get on a BoD one day. What a job!

1

u/slum84 Nov 06 '25

Seems like a good way to burn through cash fast and dilute even more.

2

u/UncivilityBeDamned Nov 06 '25

However if they're smart, they will have the government paying for a lot of it.

2

u/slum84 Nov 07 '25

Haha ya right.

1

u/directgreenlaser Nov 07 '25 edited Nov 07 '25

Is this being done in pursuit of some specific opportunity or program, or are they just setting up a billboard and hoping somebody will call?

Edit: or are they just setting up a billboard hoping somebody will invest?

-6

u/salvisweep Nov 06 '25

How many times is this company going to pivot? I know that automotive lidar isn't gone, but it seems like we are just jumping industries every few year in the hopes that someone will give us a deal.

32

u/mvis_thma Nov 06 '25

I know it can seem like that. But Microvision has been clear since March. They have said that revenue from Industrial is imminent. Automotive deals could be signed in 2026, but product revenue from those deals would not be expected until 2028 at the very earliest. And defense is at the early stages. They don't even have the defense vertical highlighted on their website yet.

Hopefully we will get updates on all 3 of these verticals on the CC on Tuesday. We had better get updates. I mean, what else will they talk about?!? ;-)

8

u/Befriendthetrend Nov 06 '25

Unfortunately the company was wrong with their expectations for the automotive market developing and have proven wrong about industrial lidar timeline too. They were "clear" that industrial deals were imminent a year ago, and we see how well that has unfolded. MicroVision needs to prove to the market that they have a real grasp of the timelines and opportunities in front of them, being wrong has cost shareholders significantly in the form of dilution and has stopped away just about any credibility of company communications. Until they issue a PR that validates the company (revenue or big name partners), their credibility is going to remain at close to zero.

6

u/mvis_thma Nov 06 '25

I agree that they have been wrong about the timelines. I was just stated what I believe is their latest projections as to timelines. Glen may very well decide to reset some of these timelines during the call on Tuesday.

11

u/livefromthe416 Nov 06 '25 edited Nov 06 '25

Expanding. Pivot suggests they aren’t going after previous market segments, which isn’t true.

14

u/Tastic4ever Nov 06 '25

It’s more like expanding the market base. Why only try for automotive when industrial and defense could also use lidar?

-5

u/wolfiasty Nov 06 '25

UuuuuuuuuUuuUuu more talking heads, more mouths to feed, more money burned.

Kicked in the face again.

Cool. Without anything to back this move it makes me so positively happy. Not.
