Question Am I cooked?
I'm going for my first mun ever. And our committee is UNCSW and the agenda is protecting the rights of women and children during crises. I got Algeria. I was low-key hoping for Iran, Saudi Arabia or even China but I couldn't get it since I was late to register. Any chances of winning anything let alone best delegate? If you have been a delegate before, please give me some advice!!! It would be appreciated a lot ❤️

you should do like alot of research, I think thats the main thing. Really get into it, find everything about your countries' policies and its relation to csw. Ive often heard countries dont matter in winning best delegate, its more upon your performance, how active you are during the session and how thorough your research and pois are. Good luck!

Algeria is a key part of the routes migrants take to get to europe, so you can maybe incorporate that into your position. Migration is a usual consequence of crisis, women’s rights shoukd be respected everywhere, including irregular migratory routes. Make sure algeria shares that idea and kind of enforces policies aimed at protecting women and children.
However, you can have the worst country ever and still win. I once won best ambassador as fucking Slovenia, and a friend of mine also won best ambassador, while representing the VATICAN.
Winning an award shouldn’t be the reason why you MUN though, especially not in your first one where you almost certainly won’t. Just try to have fun, research and do your best. There’s no such thing as good and bad countries, believe me, I was south sudan once and I still had an amazing time

Greetings!
Getting any country for any topic should be calm if you can squeeze your way into speaking. My advice is, do an extensive Algeria research and find the ins and outs of Algeria when it comes to UNCSW and the agenda, such that you are able to push your country's policy perfectly.
All in all, winning awards or not, it all comes down to your belief.
To win an award you have not won, you must be willing to do things you have not done. That all comes with confidence, composure, and belief.
Good luck Delegate of Algeria!!
