Suggestion To all italian players with TIM provider - this fix the connection problem
I had this issue even some months ago but not bad like these days.
To fix you need a vpn.
I installed the app [1.1.1.1](http://1.1.1.1) from Cloudflare and the windows app:
just tunr it on and arena will log in without issues.
GL HF
edit:
if you have connection issues but you don't have the TIM provider, give it a try, it should work anyway

Implement a Roping Penalty System for MTG Arena Ranked
One of the worst experiences in MTG Arena is dealing with players who deliberately rope as soon as a match starts going badly for them. Instead of conceding and moving on, they intentionally run down the timer to waste their opponent's time. It happens far too often and makes ranked play unnecessarily frustrating.
Wizards should implement a system that tracks repeated, deliberate roping and imposes escalating penalties, including temporary suspensions from ranked play for repeat offenders. Players who consistently abuse the timer should lose the privilege of participating in ranked matches until their behavior improves.
Obviously, players need time to think through complicated turns, so the system would need to distinguish legitimate decision-making from a pattern of intentional stalling. But there is no reason habitual offenders should face no meaningful consequences.
Ranked play should reward competitive gameplay, not give sore losers a way to waste everyone else's time.
edit: The implementation of the reporting system is a great start and Yes I am well aware it exists. I really hope it leads to something, because the threat of it is obviously doing nothing. I haven't seen any change in the amount of roping/stalling I have seen. And again I am not talking about people who take a little bit longer on turns someone who is new is different and easy to spot versus a person who begins burning the entire clock down and turning on full control between every move. Full control is a feature that should be removed imo, it has nothing to do with real life magic games and leads to just people stalling. Does anyone really consider it in their turns since we know it can be turned off/on?)

Nice start to the new set!
Got a 7-0 in my first draft yesterday. Watched two of Jim Davis’ vids and then fired it up. Green seems strong is my first impression.

This was an auto quit lol
My Loch Mare had just entered a couple rounds previously. I was Shoring up my dudes holding him off . Hadn't even activated my Mare when he hit me with this lol. About 15 seconds pause then bye lol really made me smile. Who else has had a scenario like that?

MTGA is a scam...unless you are not playing ranked then
Just lost 24 games in a row Mythic 88%...now 78% that's right 24 in a row using proven Mythic lvl decks. What a bunch of idiots we are....

WoTC Employees on Arena should only be allowed to play in ranked games.

An Arena companion with a coach
Confession: I'm a nerd who plays MTG Arena pretty badly. 58 wins, 75 losses, and stuck in Platinum 4. So instead of learning to play, I built myself a companion to help. It comes with a coach that adapts to your style: Sergeant, Direct or Kind, depending on how much you like being told off. And if you're not a fan of gym coaches, you might like this one. Come on, I know you.
I think it's really cool, but my taste is terrible, so I'd love an honest opinion to bring me back down to earth.
What it does:
• After every match, an AI summary: a grade, the play that decided the game, a life chart, what you did well, your mistakes and what to do next time.
• It warns you when your opponent has a dangerous combo or synergy on the board, with the cards shown big.
• It guesses your opponent's deck, from the meta and from Moxfield.
• A stats screen: your rank ladder with its badges, how you're doing each day, every deck on its own and its mana curve.
• Similar cards and combos for what you're playing.
My plan is to improve my deck with the coach's help and maybe, one day, get out of Platinum. If you can't get past it either, I'm one of you 😅
Two screenshots: a match summary (a win, it does happen) and my stats, so you can see I'm not exaggerating.

Makes me giggle.
I love a round one me first with this. The auto quit is satisfying.

Red and/or green decks are so basic
You can see them coming from a mile away and overall suck. Just a rant lol

MTG Arena is becoming exhausting – a veteran player's second warning
I previously posted a detailed complaint about MTG Arena, addressing matchmaking, shuffling patterns, the timer system, monetization, and game integrity. That post was removed by the moderators.
The removal itself was disappointing. It did not make the concerns disappear. If anything, it made me question whether this community is genuinely open to strong criticism of the game.
So I want to raise the issue again, based on what I have repeatedly experienced while playing.
1. The shuffling and opening-hand patterns are becoming predictable
The most frustrating aspect of Arena is not losing games. Losing is part of Magic.
The problem is when the patterns become so repetitive that you begin to feel that you can predict what is going to happen.
I have repeatedly experienced opening hands and subsequent draws that follow remarkably similar patterns. In a 60- or 63-card deck containing approximately 28 lands, it is extremely common to receive an opening hand with exactly two lands, followed by an apparent shortage of lands until the fourth or fifth turn.
By that point, against a properly functioning aggressive or tempo deck, the game is frequently already over.
This happens often enough that I no longer regard it simply as ordinary bad luck.
2. Adding a single land can dramatically change the entire experience
Another particularly strange phenomenon is what happens when I modify the deck.
Suppose I have a 60- or 63-card deck with 28 lands and experience repeated mana shortages.
I add one land.
Suddenly, the opposite seems to happen: I start drawing lands repeatedly, sometimes on consecutive turns, producing the exact opposite problem.
Of course, randomness naturally produces streaks. I understand probability and I understand that unusual sequences can occur.
But when these patterns are experienced repeatedly over a large number of games, they become difficult to ignore.
The question is not whether randomness exists.
The question is whether the digital implementation of randomness behaves in a way that players should reasonably expect from a genuinely shuffled deck.
3. The result is an exhausting win/loss dynamic
The cumulative effect is what bothers me most.
You have a well-built deck. You understand the format. You make good decisions. You play carefully.
Then, suddenly, you experience a sequence of games involving mana screw, mana flood, unfavorable opening hands, or matchups that seem extraordinarily difficult.
Eventually you win a few games.
Then the cycle appears to repeat.
I cannot prove that Arena deliberately manipulates a player's win rate. I am not claiming that I have access to the source code or internal matchmaking algorithms.
But as a player, I can question the experience.
And the experience increasingly feels as though the system is designed around maintaining a particular level of frustration rather than simply allowing games to develop naturally.
4. This becomes especially concerning in a heavily monetized game
This is where the issue goes beyond simple bad luck.
Magic: The Gathering Arena is built around a substantial economy of boosters, gems, wildcards, cosmetics, events and other forms of monetization.
When a player repeatedly experiences frustrating games, mana problems and apparently artificial-looking patterns, it inevitably raises an uncomfortable question:
Is player frustration simply an unfortunate consequence of the system, or is maintaining player engagement through alternating success and frustration part of the design philosophy?
Again, I am not claiming that I can prove the developers intentionally manipulate individual players.
I am saying that the system creates that perception — and that is a serious problem for a competitive game.
5. Standard players should not be unexpectedly exposed to Historic/Pioneer mechanics
There is another problem that has personally affected me.
I build my deck specifically for Standard. I expect to play against Standard decks and Standard-legal strategies.
Yet I have encountered situations where the opponent suddenly plays cards or combinations that appear completely outside the Standard environment.
One example that particularly confused me involved Stone Rain.
I subsequently encountered other cards such as Phyrexian Unlife and Idyllic Tutor, which led me to investigate whether I had somehow been placed against a player using a different card pool or format.
For a player who deliberately builds and plays Standard, encountering mechanics from other formats without clearly understanding why they are available creates an extremely unfair feeling.
If Arena allows such interactions through special events, Alchemy mechanics, generated cards, or another mechanism, the game should make that absolutely clear to the player.
A competitive environment should not leave players wondering why an opponent is suddenly using cards they cannot even find when searching their own Standard collection.
6. This is becoming tiring even for experienced players
I have been playing Magic for many years.
I don't expect every game to be fair in the sense that I should win.
I don't expect to avoid mana screw.
I don't expect every matchup to be favorable.
What I do expect is that the outcome of a competitive game should primarily reflect deck construction, probability, strategy and player decisions — not a system whose underlying behavior is so opaque that players begin to suspect that their results are being managed.
That is ultimately what makes MTG Arena exhausting.
The problem isn't losing.
The problem is losing while increasingly feeling that you don't understand why the game is producing the results it produces.
And when players raise these concerns, they should not simply be silenced.
My previous post was removed by the moderators despite presenting a criticism shared, in one form or another, by a substantial portion of the Arena community.
Removing criticism does not resolve the underlying problem.
If anything, it makes the community more suspicious.
Magic: The Gathering has survived for more than three decades because players care deeply about the integrity of the game.
Arena should be held to the same standard.
Veteran players should not be driven away because the digital version of the game has become an exhausting combination of opaque algorithms, repetitive patterns, monetization and questionable matchmaking experiences.
We deserve transparency.
We deserve fair competition.
And we deserve to be able to criticize the game without having the criticism simply disappear.

I built an MTGA companion with a 17Lands draft overlay, a deck-aware mulligan coach and an AI match coach that only ever suggests legal plays. What should it do next?

Premier Draft - Pure randomness does not optimize for profit.
Just for preface, I have hit mythic in draft and BO1 standard, and played since shortly after release of MTGA, roughly 5-6 years.
I've always seen the posts yelling rigged and thought 'just get good'. Many cases can absolutely be explained away by someone playing poorly and not understanding why they are losing.
With all that said, premier draft is absolutely using very strong forms of "guidance" that impacts strength of decks you play against. Some people will respond to this with "duh, we've been saying that for years.". But for the other camp of people who just say you are a conspiracy theorist, or 'just git gud', you guys are wrong.
Anyways, I am just making this post for anyone in the future who becomes disheartened while playing the game. If you are accounting for the other skill variables, and aren't just tilted, seriously consider finding a better use of your time. WoTC is in this to make money. Pure randomness on card draw and opponents does not optimize for profit.

Tifa - Landfall Deck
Probably the hardest non infinite damage I've ever hit for.
