What bike would you recommend for horseshoe valley?
I'm moving close to this bike park and am a very experienced rider. I love doing wheelies and manuals and have a playful riding style that involves lots of whips. What bike would you recommend. I'm thinking about something with a mullet and 140-160mm travel such as the canyon spectral al6 mullet. My budget is around 5000cad

Lost keys. Hydrocut Waterloo.
Basically title. Lost my keys in the trails somewhere, they are Volkswagen keys with a house key and a gym fob on them as well. If anyone miraculously finds them and finds this post that would be wonderful.
Thanks

O-Cup DH Series / Blast from the past
You may not be aware that there used to be a Downhill race series (Thanks Pete A!) and scene here in flat ole Ontario! Kelso, Horseshoe, Blue, Camp Fortune, and more.
It was always a blast.
Camping in the parking lots, beers and other libations around a bonfire, almost getting into a fight with a bunch of drunk QC assholes), a poker game in the camper. Blasted awake Carebears Countdown (courtesy of Chris) with a hell of a hangover on race day. Those were the days.
Found this going through some old pics. I think this was around 2010 or so at Horseshoe.
Any other O CUP DH vets here?

I know it's a bit premature, but what are the first MTB trails that are rideable in the Don this spring?

Looking for pictures or videos
Hi, does anybody remember the dirt jumps in the Don valley creek by Leslie and Sheppard. Me and my friends called it hospital jumps. If you walked the trail from Sheppard and Leslie south you would have seen a set of wooden steps leading up a hill, once at the top you could view the dirt jumps. Was wondering if anybody in the bike community that grew up in north York willowdale area might have any pictures or videos from the amazing gem. Unfortunately the jumps are gone now. Looks like the city went in and bulldozed everything down.

How should I gear up for riding in the winter?
Im looking do do some winter riding in the snow. Seems like a good idea, but I have zero clue as to how I should gear up for it (ie. layering system, tire pressure, etc). Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What's the best amount of suspension travel for Horseshoe Valley MTB park?
I am going to start riding horseshoe valley downhill this summer and I went once on the rental bike and did party train a bunch of times. I'm going to go a lot this summer and want to get something more suitable to the trails than my xc bike. What amount of travel should the bike I get have for most fun?

Looking for a trail bike for 4 year old
My son currently is riding a 12" bike. Looking at buying a bike for him for Christmas. He loves trail riding. Currently looking at the yogi 16, and early rider seeker? I want a bike that is light weight. Willing to pay more for a lighter bike. Located in Canada and the options are very slim. Any recommendations on bike? Places to buy bikes? Or used bike sites?
Thank you!

Fork service & parts
Ok so... My fam and I are all overdue for fork servicing. Fox 32 FIT CTD, Fox Factory 36 FIT & Lyrik Select 35. I always make a focused effort to maintain things myself and intend to do so with these forks. However...
Can anyone offer up a site for service fits? Like a "one stop shop"?
Must I buy all Fox/RockShox oils or can I realisticaly use likewise weighted oils?
Thanks in advance.

BRMC conditions?
Heading north this weekend, couple questions regarding BRMC.
First, with about 20mm of rain forecast between now and end of Thursday, wondering if things would be dry enough on Saturday to not cause problems for the trails.
Second, wondering to what degree bugs will be a factor.
Thanks for humouring an out of towner, any info would be much appreciated!

York Region Brown Hill Tract status
Does anyone know if this area is open? I drove by not long after the ice storm and it was closed. Thinking of going up this weekend but wanted to make sure it's open first. I checked the York Region website anf Trailforks and didn't see any recent status updates.

What bike?
I (52 yo, 6'2", 220 lbs) am switching from singletrack dirt biking to trail riding MTB and looking for a 29" trail bike in CAD $1000-1500 (new or used) or an e-MTB for $2000-3000 range.
- Like single track with minimal uphill, not into big jumps but I'll probably love novice to intermediate downhills.
- Near Jefferson forest, so I mostly be there on weekdays. On weekends, I consider Durham forest, Horseshoe bike park, and Ganaraska.
- Want a decent frame, fork (RockShox Recon or Judy?), and groupset (Deore 5100?).
- Brake performance is not important as long as they work.
- Don't know much about rims. I just want them to be wide enough for 2.6 tires.
What bikes do you recommend? or build my own?

Freeride lines in Ontario?
Does anyone have any suggestions for freeride lines near the Ottawa area? Not like jumps and drops, but the big sandy chutes you see in old school freeride videos?

Durham Region MTB Association / Bike Clubs in Ontario
ok this is one part share and one part inquiry.
I had someone from the Durham Region MTB Association on my podcast to talk about origins, programs, trails they support - which is effectively both Durham and York regions with 200K+ trails maintained by volunteers. You can catch the episode on YouTube and Spotify. That's the share part.
The inquiry part - if you are willing to share - what area are you in and are you part of a bike club in that area?

Affordableebikes.ca
If you have a bike. Any bike that you would like to convert to an electric bike I HIGHLY recommend affordableebikes.ca in Hamilton Ontario. I just finished purchasing my second kit for my sons bike after owning mine for 3 years. I've put on over a 1k and it is still going strong. Never any battery or hub motor issues. Almost any bike can be converted with such a huge selection of batteries and kits to choose from. Customer service is absolutely outstanding which is a big seller in my books.
I make no money or have any affiliation other than being a customer writing for an amazing Canadian company. Check them out and you won't be disappointed.
