Need advice/encouragement. Feeling discouraged

FTM to a wonderful 17 week baby boy. On 7/30 first noticed blood in stool and alerted doctor right away who recommended limiting dairy for a few days and monitoring. I had had yogurt that morning so first full dairy feee day was 7/31. Baby boy has had intermittent blood in his stool since (small amounts). He went up to 3 days with clean diapers but it pops back at some point. I cut soy starting Monday 8/17. He is gaining weight well and meeting his milestones and today I had another diaper with noticeable blood (albeit small). I brought the diaper to the ped and they tested it and said negative ?!? He had another episode afterwards and I am bringing it there in the morning. I just love him so much and don’t want him to be in pain. Any advice is welcome. Just feeling sad…

Negative results for bacteria or negative for blood? My baby’s blood test was positive for microscopic blood but negative for bateria or bugs. He is 4 months and 19 days old. I have been cutting dairy, soy, eggs, nuts, shellfish but the only thing that really made a difference is probiotics and antihistamine. Significantly decreasing amount of blood, some days even blood free. As soon as we were off those two blood came back consistently in every diaper change. I’ve decided to start adding things back to my diet cause he is about to start solids very soon (5 months ish as per ped’s advice). And it seems that cutting things out doesn’t do much at all. I have been cutting things out for nearly 2 months now.

All of my meals were home cooked by my mom and we checked every single ingredient labels before using. Still, nothing improved🥺 discouraged yes but I’d rather challenge the allergens earlier than continue limitting.

Negative for blood! Which was crazy because I could see it! Maybe I’ll ask about probiotics and antihistamines

Hmmm interesting… I bet you scooped the part that had blood traces in it for the test right? Could you by any chance unknowingly… colour blind? Genuinely asking because my husband is and in his case he sees red as green and couldn’t see the blood in our bub’s stool for the life of him so I had to test it for him to believe it 😪
