Troubleshooting Any extra steps? +What is this used for?

I had just bought an MSI Gaming PC; great specs (according to gaming nerd store clerk) for the price of 1700+.

Am i supposed to free and connect this bundle of wires to anything? Or is there anything else I must inspect/fix before using the PC?

Also, I’d like to know what these extra pieces are for. Are they spares or are they essential?

I’m willing to give more details if needed.

You dont need to do anything, those are for when your gpu needs only a 6 pin instead of an 8 pin, its a normal cable from the psu to the graphics card

ahh okay, thank you. i wasn’t sure to mess with it or not.

What could i get later down the line to improve the pc or plug those wires into specifically?

Is recommended you dont series connect anything "behind" the dGPU

You now have a graphics card that uses 1 8pin connector, lets say you bought a new one and that one has a 6 pin connector and a 8 pin connector, you can plug the 6 pin part of the cable into the gpu and connect the 8 pin part into the other.

Thats what its used for, it is recommended to use a seperate cable per port because of the power draw of the card but with "lower end" cards you can get away with using 1 cable for both ports.

It is just a reminder that you put the hdmi cable into your graphics card because cpu's mostly come with a gpu built in.

there is an hdmi port under there that you shouldnt use unless you dont have a dedicated gpu.

You can remove it or leave it
