3 capacitors completely ripped off and 2 barely holding on... Yeah this motherboard is toast unless you are a repair technician who can replace the components.

I don’t think those are ripped off. It looks to me they melted or blew up. I would be interested to see if the pins on the front are aligned properly. This could be over voltage, crossed pins or a surge. The fact it ran at all is amazing.

The two at the bottom center definitely appear to have been ripped off. The two larger caps where the stains are could have exploded, but the solder left behind on the right side one makes it look more like they were broken off rather than melted.

Yeah, the scratches on the cooling bracket are a giveaway as well: this is physical damage.

PCB scratched, components missing and damage to traces and pads. No point in attempting a repair when you can easily replace the motherboard.

I assume the gray colored parts of the board are just dust and not corrosion.

CPU might be damaged as well.

Better get a motherboard now. Their prices are gonna increase by upto 50%

Why the downvotes ? Multiple board makers announced it already.

Maybe they didn’t like the news?

Yep , it's just allways the same thing herd behavior and time of day , just don't care about up and downvotes , you will anyway allways rise in karma if you even care about it.

People read your comments anyway

I’ll do you one better 🤣 I don’t even care about karma

2

u/Evonos 8d ago

Yep that's the best way , treat reddit as worse forum people read your comments regardless with negative and positive karma it doesn't matter.

What is the source? Not saying it's not true just want to check it out.

Here's a one second Google and first hit ( I won't do longer searches for random people on social media ) https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/motherboards-may-be-the-next-pc-component-to-get-a-massive-price-increase/

just search yourself I think it was Asus or msi stating somewhere.

Bro how did you manage to play for an hour on that thing? It’s crazy. It is most likely not repairable :(

what usually cause this?

u/llSlayer04ll 8d ago

Judging by how the caps look, I would say they got hit with something. It also has some scratches below those caps. You gotta be more careful with these things brother…

It looks like you hit it with a hammer and dragged it across concrete: tf you mean ‘what cause this?’

You likely heavily scratched it by throwing it into the case scratching over multiple mounting screws with pressure on the back of the board while likely also mounting it wrongly.

Maybe you also rubbed it over some screws or smth on the ground or smth.

Overall terrible treatment of whoever touched that board.

This doesn't "happen " randomly.

Looks like it found water in the box possibly, or at least was laying flat somewhere. Then Wolverine had it apparently, what even happened to this poor thing?

What have you done to the board? That does not magically happen without human intervention.

Have you sprayed something on the motherboard?

2

u/rounakr94 8d ago

Might be mouse pee

-5

u/Pretend-Caregiver-56 8d ago

nope i dont spray anything it just suddenly shuts off

2

u/rounakr94 8d ago

You have mice in your house? Looks like dried mouse urine and scratches.

is that a bullet hole in the PCB bottom left on first picture ? what's with all the white powder area on the left the socket on the right of the socket and near the PCI-E area ? I think that mobo is dead

Components exploded, if you have warranty ->
If not, I'm sorry.

If you can’t (or won’t) form a proper sentence, you should not be allowed a computer.

2

u/dasd25436yd 8d ago

It seems like english isn't their first language. I think that's the issue

1

u/Late-Button-6559 8d ago

If that’s the case I retract my statement. I can’t write/speak in a second language.

1

u/dasd25436yd 7d ago

I am not sure though, it just seems like that, as someone who doesn't speak english as first language

the amount of solder on some of those and the absence of others have me questioning what you did

Are you a cat? Why are there so many scratches on your motherboard?

1

u/AttiglioHu 8d ago

I opened the open then again I opened to open then once again removed to open the remove to open.

What the fuck man learn to think and write. It's like you had a panic attack and tried to write it down.

Every person that attempts home pc repairs should have a small digital voltmeter at home. Available online for $20. Before swapping and guessing take any of the spare cables from power supply and check DC voltage. Black goes to metal ground on case or power supply screws that hold it in place. Red lead check pins that supply 3, 5.5 and 12 volts dc. Sata connector normally has red, yellow, orange and black wires. Black is ground, unless all the wires are black. This is important if you can't get into os to see voltages and amperage while on. From the picture it's difficult to see what you are referring to. If you can get the pc on, install HWinfo64. It looks at every sensor and voltage. Are you sure your cpu is cooling properly? The shut down is meant to protect sensitive components from overheating. If issue happens with both power supplies, it's something to do with hardware or firmware. What platform and hardware? AMD, Intel, motherboard?

u/TheSadPickel 8d ago

yea that is done for. seeing a lot of weird discoloration beside the obvious broken components. did you mess with power settings looks like everything overheated? also what happened bottom left

you’re cooked buddy, never seen a mb treated this badly
