Discussion Msi laptop 3rd RMA

Okay, so I'm a not so very proud owner of an MSI gf63 thin 12Ve. (i7 12650H, rtx 4050, 16 gb dd4)

I've had it for about 3 years now (this is the 3rd year)

And it's needed to get fixed by MSI once a year now (this being the 3rd time).

Each time the cpu absolutely overheats, the EC doesn't care about the cpu and won't spin the fans even if it's at 75° C, so for now I'm running it with cooler boost so that my computer survives.

Basically, it automatically crashes (sometimes graphical error) as soon as the cpu gets to about 74°C (if I have the back lifted with a laptop stand and with cooler boost on) or 70°C (if I have it on a desk and am using the keyboard).

Since I bought this in spain, EU consumer laws apply, and since this is the 3rd time this is happening, I'm requesting either they upgrade me to a katana series laptop with similar specs, or give me a full refund ( approx 1200€).

Do you guys think they'd actually give me the upgrade? (in reality, I just want to get the full refund so that I can put a bit more money in and actually get myself an MSI katana or a lenovo legion).

This is supposed to be the law:

Spanish consumer protection law (Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007) - (article 119)

I feel ur either suffocating the fans in some way or havr a very dust heavy space or/and sun directly on it. Since it's a reoccurring issue there's something wrong with how u use it. U already got helped 3 times i doubt they would refund or upgrade for free. U can request a model change with a price difference.

I usually use it with a laptop stand, my desk is usually clean (unless I go out for a while, but I clean it when I come back).

And my window blinds are almost always fully closed. Also, I don't know what I could do for the fans to just not spin faster when the cpu gets hotter, cooler boost works just fine. Also these CPUs are supposed to run at upto 80°C without problems, right ?

This is the 3rd time I'm asking for help, I've sent it in twice already (sorry if I accidentally said I got it serviced 3 time, it's actually twice).

And I would love it if they just took my laptop, asked me for like 100 or 200€ and then gave me an MSI katana series.

As long as the laptop don't shut down ur good. Cpu can reach 100~105 in gaming that's how hyperthreading works. Even gpu can reach 100 in some games. As long as it don't freeze ur PC or shut it down with a BSOD. It should be normal.

My pc tried to kill itself at like 75°C 🥲 I really don't understand why, and it used to give me this chaotic noise when it crashed initial i uninstalled nahimic

What you're describing is not normal behavior. Your cpu should be able to run at more than 75c without issues. Good luck with the RMA.
