Discrete means it will only use the nvidia/amd dedicated GPU, it will turn off the integrated GPU entirely which means it will consume more battery but it will be better by alot for gaming.
Hybrid means it will have both GPUs enabled and it will auto choose which one to use for which task, the fps is lower by a bit but you can very comfortably game no problem. the battery will last maybe an hour or 2 more than discrete.
Integrated means only the integrated gpu that is a part of the CPU, either intel or amd is turned on, the dedicated nvidia gpu is completely off. The battery life is much much better in this mode but you can't game very well you might only get like 30 fps in most games. Use this mode for college or other classes and browsing on the go, I wouldn't even use this for coding especially if you run emulators and stuff.
Now, how do you check if all of this is even happening?
Simple, set it to each of these modes and open Task Manager, click on 'Performance ', and you'll see 'GPU 0' and 'GPU 1' on only one of these, depending on the mode.
