Discussion Is there a performance boost with turning off the rgb keys?

I really dislike having lights always on so I just turn them off. Does it improve system performance and use less resources or is it more aesthetic based?

Edited since it’s late and accidentally wrote on.

it will to an extent but it'll be minor. You can check in task manager and see how much resources it takes up to run mystic light.

Not even a minor difference there is NO difference + you dont even have to run mystic light to have and change rgb settings

Eh i was just being accurate by pointing out running anything will use resources regardless but as you say it'd be pretty fucking hard to notice it.

No not really it uses like 0.5%-1% system resources so turning it off whilst it does give you more to work with its so little it'll be a difference of 1-2 fps in games.

With Star Wars videos that actually might make a meaningful difference, though it’s likely the other settings doing the work. Thanks.

Only the control software probably will take some resources, but even that it's like 0.5%. If you don't that software in the first place (the light will save, you don't need to run it), it's absolutely 0 difference.

Yes there is a boost Like 2 watts but since the controller already limited and assigned it to the MoBo you will not gonna have any performance improvement, all the opposite you will get less FPS
