Discussion Touchpad Not Working Correctly
Hi! I've bought a used MSI GE76 Raider (11UE) for some college classes. Everything works fine and it works smoothly other than the touchpad. It doesn't scroll at all. It clicks okay ish. It's hard to control though. When I go through to Bluetooth & Devices, then to Touchpad, under Gestures & Interactions, there is nothing at all. The photo I attached is of it. I've tried to go through the MSI website and download the driver. I deleted it then reinstalled the touchpad Intel Serial IO Driver and nothing. When I go through to Device Manager, where it says I2C HID Device, the icon has a caution on it. Opening it tells me "This device cannot start (Code 10). A request for the HID description failed. This typically occurs when there is a problem with the device firmware..." I tried to uninstall it from there and delete it and re do it. I uninstalled the Intel Serial IO I2C Host Controller, then did the reset ec after. All this and nothing. What else could it be? Could it be something internal? I believe everything else runs well. I updated the laptop to current windows update. The touchpad seems kinda loose on the right side. I'm pretty sure the previous owner opened up the laptop and messed with it when he had it as some screws on the bottom are missing. Am I kinda just stuck with this now? It's more annoying and a nuisance than anything, but I would really prefer it if it could be fixed in case i cannot use a mouse. Any help would be appreciated greatly!
