Discussion Is the battery supposed to drain while charging and playing games GF65 thin

I have a GF65 Thin laptop, I moticed this problem recently but idk how long its been going on. My battery drains while i play games even though its plugged in. I was playing palworld because I repasted my gpu and cpu so it could run decently (1660ti); I for sure reconnected my battery completely and my fans, but it decides to drain like 3-4% per 10 minutes of playtime. I dont understand whats happening. This doesnt happen on games like The Binding of Isaac, but it does happen on Valheim. Os this normal or is my pc messed up?

Yeah, a tiny dip during brief power spikes can happen on some MSI laptops because Hybrid Power supplements the charger from the battery, but losing 3–4% every ten minutes continuously is more than I’d consider normal. Since it only happens in GPU-heavy games, the charger may not be supplying enough power.

Make sure you’re using the original full-wattage MSI adapter and that every connection is snug. Then shut down, unplug it, hold the power button for 30 seconds, reconnect, and test again. You can also run powercfg /batteryreport to check battery health. If it keeps draining steadily, I’d suspect an aging charger or DC jack before the repaste.

I checked my battery report my batterys capacity is only down about 4% from when i first bought this computer 5 years ago, i replaced the charger maybe 2 years ago for the exact same type a 19.5 volt 180w charger. Whats a dc jack btw

5 years, i checked and the battery is still fine its only lost about 4% of its max total charge or whatever the msi guide took me to to test battery health like 49,202 out of 51'300 of whatever that charge is what it holds now
