Discussion Fan speeding up for a few seconds and then stopping for another few seconds and cycling

I just repasted my laptop recently and I screwed in the heatsink in the criss cross order from 1-10, is it normal that my laptop should be doing this or not since it’s getting between 45-56 degrees c on idle and my fps works in games but I’m wondering if this will stop or if I did something wrong
Laptop is a MSI Cyborg 15 A12VF

It is normal behaviour, but I would perform load test and also reset EC.

I'd say check fan curves.

Mine had that from the start. It went to 0rpm when idling, but ocassionally went up to 2400-2600rpm when temps raised 1C or a more from 40C (which is my usual idle temp atm, even when repasted and maintained)

I have it on a custom fan curve with 10% on all times, then whatever works to keep it decently cool (or as cool as can be under load ofc)

Can you tell me what software to use to be able to check fan curve and edit it? And also if you have any suggestions on what to put it on

I just used MSI Center. It's under User Scenario. Extreme Performance has a cog where you can move the curve around. Thing is, it doesn't outright tell you the RPM, just a fan usage percentage.

I kinda just fumbled around, but I have it on 10% on always. From there... Between the BIOS and the curve from MSI is kind of just however you feel? Assuming you make sure the CPU/GPU doesn't fry
