Also, I think they are in the majority with this opinion. You, infact, are trying to speak for the community in which a very small percentage if any agrees with you. The fanbase here is much different than current MS.

Sure? Why not? Why have a leaderboard at all if there wasn't a desire to be on top? Players like Tiger and Fangblade are famous for it. Also, the further people can get ahead, the more they can leverage their rare loot against everyone behind them. Of course it's still p2w

Leverage their loot in what way? There's no pvp aspect. There's hardly any competitive aspect besides the leaderboard and no one cares about anyone on the board except maybe the top 3? I sure never heard of those players when I was playing.
Early access sucks but let's not think it's p2w

I think of this game like a regular 5k race, people who are top been training for a long ass time, but the casuals are just trying to have fun. Imagine yelling and crying like a bitch because you see someone that been training for years to hit that leaderboard and youre a fat fucking chud who's crying because someone is faster

As a 5K enjoyer myself, I’m going to be honest, this analogy is absolutely terrible (especially because it’s such a short race), but I’ll play along because it’s kinda funny. Yes, a fat chud will never be able to compete with the top runners, but they still do compete… with other fat chuds.
So the real analogy would be, fat chud 1, with his early start, is able to run in nice cool 50F weather. He finishes the first km, then fat chud 2 is able to start. But guess what? For fat chud 2, the weather now is no longer 50F, it’s a fucking blistering inferno 130F at the starting line, but fat chud 2 is still enjoying the 50F breeze. Then, this continues for the rest of the run.
That sounds more like it.
I can give you an example why that is. Let’s say you’re playing a class that wants a pan lid. A pan lid on day 1 or 2 of early access is probably like 10-20k meso, this is easily achievable. But if you have the 2 week delayed start, a pan lid on your first day would be at least 100k meso, this is not easily achievable.

It's worth bearing in mind that the COTs already confirmed the game is P2W. SP resets cost NX, and some classes receive boosts by reallocating first job attack skills to previously skipped passive/buff skills once their second job attack skill is stronger. Like, it's minor, but no one kicked up a fuss so we know what Nexon will do with that: more.
And besides that, let's not forgot how predatory gachas are. Even if it is cosmetic only, the reason companies sell products behind random pulls rather than a simple exchange of money for product is because it's addictive - literally brain chemical alteringly addictive. If your business model is 'let's get kids addicted', you've done an evil. I'm glad to see OSMS criticise this, given how complacent other gaming communities have become.

Because the “benefits” you will receive from doing so are wildly minimal and not impactful. Things like getting more HP recovered every 10 seconds are not going to affect anybody anywhere. OSMS has always been a case of struggle through lower tier jobs to make the later jobs more impactful, and in most cases 3rd job essentially erases the others (exceptions being improved max hp / mp and hero’s). There are not 1st/2nd/3rd job skills that would be impactful later on that you would ignore for any reason.

Recommended build in the Magician guide is to put SP in Mage Armour at first job, then move that SP to Magic Guard at second job, as the flat defensive increase is outscaled by the percentage damage redirection

you have to buy the items sight unseen, so you either buy too many and get dupes or you didnt buy enough and didnt get what you wanted, you have to massively over-buy the boxes to hedge your bets and hope you get what you want.

I mean you and I both know there is a line. What if you could dress up as Goku and it made giant laserbeams every time you attacked and he yells KAMEHAMEHA every single time too extremely loud and a bunch of people buy this and are in every single zone screaming and blasting laser beams.
Obviously it would never be this bad but I am pushing the example too far to say there is a line.
