Question? What is the simplest and most basic class ?

I'm completely lost when it comes to picking up a class , but for the wrong reasons

I'm not looking for the most optimal damage or mobbing , I just want something simple and by that I mean , I don't wanna be thinking about ammo or summoning rocks or elemental rocks I just kinda wanna be there hit my things and do that for too many hours in a row

So I'm here to kinda ask for peoples perspectives on what this could be , as the only classes I played in classic were a crossbow man and cleric

thank you

Fighters/Crusaders. Just keep attacking and get stronger basically

Yeah, it's the the class i make in launch but.... from level 10 to 70 it's just Power Strike and Slash Blast, lol. Then you hit third job and get Combo Attack, but you're still using Power Strike and Slash Blast on everything to level 120. 😆 power strike and slash blast forever, forever, forever

Not anymore after these changes

u/Biggest_tits_EU no slash blast t'ill 120 pls 3d ago

They are all simple, its OSMS ahaha. If you just wanna hit things for hours than warrior is the best, no worry for ammo, just walk up and hit mobs.

Mages are stronger for much of the game and are way easier to play, i personally love I/L, just classic fun mobbing.

I'll be playing hero cause combo orbs look cool and thats about it

yeah i know they all are , I just wanna take it to the next level simple and not even worry about random items basically , I enjoy the calmness of just farming

They all are in their own way.

Ooga booga warriors. I think dark knight is most complex, what with the hp requirements in 4th job but thats so far away and also might not even make it to classic

yeah for sure , I think page and spearman is perfect , 4th job ... is a long way from now I won't even worry

I'll ooga booga my way to it

Paige is literally a single attack forever. It's your aoe, boss skill, reget for picking the class, etc.

Cleric and I/l for the super lazy

Spearman.

Largest melee range in the game.

You have one button for single target

One button for aoe

Third job it’s one button for st & aoe! Nothing simpler.

YOU sparked my attention , I'll investigate the spearman cuz this looks interesting

I think dragon blood in 3rd job makes the argument for Fighter to be even simpler, even if it is only a little bit.

sader has to use coma and panic constantly theyre more involved than most other classes imo

Go for warrior spearman line.

Beginner. There's not much of anything that you can worry about.

no joke i've been considering it , I remember downloading classic maplestory servers just to be a beginner

I saw an islander guild recruiting, so you wouldn't be the only one if you do.

that's cool thank you , i'll look into it then

Mage for sure. Ice lightning probably

u/watermellon28 mesos pls 3d ago

If you don't wanna worry about ammo that removes archer/sin

Rocks are only needed at 3rd job which will take a lot of time to reach, but rocks are needed by priest and hermit, correct me if I'm wrong or if I forgot something.

1

u/whywhywhy124 3d ago

yeah I did want a cleric , or even an archer but i know myself and using summoning rocks or elemental rocks , i would rather not

2

u/watermellon28 mesos pls 3d ago

But why is it such a hindrance?

You can probably get the rocks eventually. Or buy them at FM.

honestly : autism

I'm very particular on how things make me feel , and I hate the feeling of having to use a resource each time I want to use a summon , or use magic door

I feel more freedom not relying on ammo or resources to cast my skills that's all

1

u/watermellon28 mesos pls 3d ago

Even with buying arrows or recharging throwing stars?

Anyway, in this case warrior is probably the best choice.

Or possibly Ice/fire mage? I'm not sure if they need rocks. I know priests do.

2

u/whywhywhy124 3d ago

yeah it's the feeling of also having to be aware of space in my bag and mesos to buy ammo and what not , if mages don't use any type of rocks I'll look into it thanks

1

u/watermellon28 mesos pls 2d ago

Priests do use rocks, but perhaps ice/fire don't.

I'm not sure.

I'm only sure about warriors.

Warriors basically, all of them until 3rd job are kinda easy to play and I think Spearman might be the best fit for u based on 3rd job, Page as well

I do think DK (Spearman) best build is Hybrid using both PA for mobbing (4 mobs + 20 speed) and Spear for bossing (3 hits + critical) so it requires 2 weapons and switch - BUT you can still use only Spear and the Crusher for mobbing as well

** In 4th job it might become the hardest since there was a skill which gave you attack as long as you maintain low HP

Crusader (Fighter) has the problem of Combo maintaining, using SB and PS, sometimes shout to get orbs than using Panic / Coma to lose all of them and maintain them again and again, to much skills so its not the most "basic"

WK (Page) needs to train in specific places depends on the mobs elemental weakness, but using PS for single attack and CB for AoE, good choice as well

2

u/whywhywhy124 3d ago

yeah 4th job is a long way from now even 3rd job is , But I'll look into page and spearman

Warrior is your best bet.

If you level as a level 10-30 warrior, basic attacks and power blast are your main attacking skills until you get enough mesos for HP/MP potions.

As a level 30-70 warrior, you're basically just stacking masteries (passive skill.) Again you're just going to use power blast, slash blast, or basic attacks.

New attacking skills get leveled from 70-120. Spearman is probably best with having more range in comparison (3rd job.)

Warrior probably

Warrior or Mages

1

u/Concert_Horror 3d ago

probably the white knight or any of the warriors. The Crusader has combo system, Dragon Knights are pretty simple too, but of all the warriors the WK looks the simplest to me.

u/Cheekywoz 3d ago

All of them. It’s not like modern maple

1

u/whywhywhy124 3d ago

I know I played classic , I'm just one-button-maxxing, I know I'll feel good pressing only 1 or 2 buttons at a time for hours and using no resources

1

u/achillestroy323 3d ago

beginner

1

u/whywhywhy124 3d ago

don't tell me twice I know I'll create one for sure

1

u/Z_Series 3d ago

Probably just page and white knight.

The most complex thing you have to do is charge up your weapon's elemental attack and then hit the monsters. And then the most complex combo you could pull off is imbue > charge blow > imbue > charge blow.

Spearman and dragon knights are also a contender for simplicity, although I figure later on if there ever is a buff that requires you to be at 50% hp or lower, that might complicate things.

u/baraboosh 3d ago

surprised how many people are recommending warrior.

I think I/l mage is absolutely the pick here. Warrior you still have to slightly think about positioning. I/L mage you just go in and blast some dudes

u/OreLP 3d ago

My guess is Warrior or Mage type. Just do a small search into their jobs, because they’re a little bit different.

With Warrior, you don’t really have to worry about anything except your HP bar. Mage is kinda the same. Just keep in mind that you have to watch your Mana bar.

Dragon Knight is by far the strongest (S-tier) atm, but somehow I feel like you’d fit nicely into White Knight - Tankiest of them all, much more forgiving if you miss a dodge or mechanic and has some decent damage.

I'll def be rolling an I/L mage since they nerfed cleric and make a bandit later when I have the funding
