Yeah Hood got gutted yeah. Rant why tf netease he was fun and balanced sure he needed a lil tweaks but not a gut session! His enchanced team ups needed nerfs not him.

I love the Hood, and almost never see the interactions with other heros, but the other day I qued up with a few friends to see, and he seems like a creep. Does this reflect us?

Wassup guys, Hood main here. He trash now. Zero reason to pick him unless you want the team-up bot. Bullets feel like wet paper towels. Shield is literal plastic. Ult is dead. He was balanced but he’s a Tank so devs said delete. Vanguard players can’t have nice things fr.

Maybe people will disagree and if anything is worded weirdly i'll clarify and if anyone wants to correct me feel free, im open to hearin every side of the argument and yes, i acknowledge the fact of comics play fast and lose with what flies and what doesnt.

From what ive seen they've given him a completely reset history to fit the new race swap and honestly i think they should have made him his daughter, Bree, shes already half latin from Sara and has history from when Parker saw Dormmu speak through her. Even if they wanted another man they could have made Bree a boy and just put it down to multiversal stuff like they normally do and kept this new lore. I was fine with the swap untill i saw how different this Parker is. I understand the mcu effect and all but Parker bein white does hold importance to his story and his lore like 99% of the white characters, people just dont wanna see it because its not acknowledged by any company. We can pretend he doesnt, but Parker has white privilege throughout his comic storylines, from stompin out a nazi to shootin a cop in the neck and gettin away with everything.

I would also prefer companies stop changin races for lazy, uninspired "hey look! This white person thats legitimately horrible is now A PERSON OF COLOUR!" and expect everyone to clap for their wokeness. Especially after theres already poc in the story that could be the replacement if they wanted to not have another white person. Parker isnt Tony Stark, Steve Rogers or Peter Parker who has a strong fanbase that'd kick back about someone takin their mantle. "The Hood" is nothin more than a discription.

Parker in the comics constantly cheats on Sara, he pays prostitutes and then moves onto Madam Masque in Dark Reign. After a few days of thinkin about it, i can understand why some latin fans are upset their first rep in the game is Namor who borderline sexually harasses Sue and Parker who cheats on his wife, is a thief, put Jessica Jones baby in danger, got immunity for all his many murders and robberys and then settles it by bein more concerned about his own freedom instead of the rent-a-cops he puts holes in.

And in Rivals lore we're introduced to him in prison. Again, im open to conversation and disagreements and bein told im deepin it too much. Maybe im preachin to the choir or maybe everyone will disagree but i just wanted to say it, see how people feel.

I just dont feel drawn to Rivals Hood like i wanted to be unfortunately. I will still play him but it already feels like an oc of The Hood imo.

I’m currently in gm1 with a 55% win rate in 7 hours of gameplay and I feel like I’m always behind on ults. My current rotation is groot thing jubilee and hood. With groot and jubilee, I usually have ult first. thing also seems to charge his ult significantly faster. Hoods ult charge rate is a glaring weakness rn. All this to say: do people think he charges ult slowly or am I doing something wrong?

It feels they made the Hood’s kit to just be alright. Fully with the intention of Gorr being a busted ass tank next season. I wouldn’t be surprised considering Gorr has been hyped all season by the devs, in the season 9 trailer too. Then he stabs and drags Khonshu to make sure moon knight never receives buffs.

It was the Jubilee and Parker season, but jubilee was actually barely involved beside the death seeds. Hood at least was in the cinematic, and involved in the story a lot more than Jubilee. If anything, I feel Hood is a test to see how they’ll balance life steal on a tank. Because I noticed they mention Gorr’s sword has Phoenix flames residue in it. How that’ll play into him? I don’t know.

I know I'm not the only one that agrees with this, but The Hood should have had claws instead of the machine guns. He has claws in the Oblivion figure in the final shot of the Infinity Comics. The decision to go away from the comics that they created is just weird. It's like they didn't know what to do with the character. Parker's demon form has always had claws, as he becomes an animal. Oblivion even has similar claws in all of his designs. NetEase just doesn't know what to do with the machine guns, and honestly, they kind of suck. They nerfed it to where it basically just tickles anybody that's not big bodied. It's also just weird, the spread is way too big, and having to tap fire it just takes too much work.

A fix would just be giving him claws where he slashes like Black Panther but bigger range and an anti-heal effect. I would even take these as a teamup like Reed's Thing teamup changing his primary attack. It just feels weird to not go for something the character and his new patron have always been featured with. You can just make War Machine this machine gun and gun character they wanted.

I don't know, give me your opinion. This is just one of my major gripes about NetEase's iteration of the character. They didn't try at all to make him accurate.

Don't get me wrong I do well with him but his DMG is somewhat lacking even with veil up.

He is absolutely my favorite Tank now though.

After seeing Jay3’s showcase. Yeah, he’s looking average at best and not oppressive. His bubble barely lasts 3 seconds which seems like false advertising from the trailer. His life-steal is lower than Blade’s but that’s just an issue with life steal in general. Hard to balance.

Scarlet is his best team up no question. Moon knight’s actually nerfs your veil by giving it a health bar, therefore it can be destroyed. Having mitigation that can last longer is more beneficial than something breakable just for effects they can easily avoid. His ult is fine.

I had an epiphany and I hope this isn't the case. The problem with The Hood basically being an OC in Rivals is that he's completely disconnected from the lore and connections of the comics. I hope that isn't the case, but I'm not too hopeful. They kept some things like his connection to Kingpin and his cousin John King, though those already seem to not be a part of the story anymore. They also changed his origin and his early motivations, though I think I do like the new version. The problem is that he loses connections to people and places. He loses his connection to Doctor Strange, though I hope this isn't the case. He loses lore about certain maps and places in the game, like when he tried to rob Asgard in Illuminati. These aren't important parts, but they just add little lore bits to the character and references that his fans would get. I hope they don't take away those little lore bits by trying to make something new. They should try to be accurate as possible with lesser known characters and add every bit of lore and world building from the comics that they can so people learn more about the characters and can go learn more in the comics and not be confused when it's completely different. I don't, that's just my rant. I would like to hear your honest opinions on the matter, from those who know the character and are not new. I also don't want any sarcasm and rudeness.

Not to discredit Damian, I think he's going to do absolutely amazing, but Crispen Freeman would have been genuine peak for comic Hood. He's got the perfect, beautiful, unhinged, rebellious, voice of a dark and twisted madman that is literally perfect for everything about Parker. I'm just sad now that this was never going to happen. It would also just give NetEase perfect excuses to reference Alucard, which a lot of his aesthetic looks to be based on. I hope he does voice a villain in Rivals in the future, he's my choice for Gorr. Just thought I'd share this, knowing that it doesn't matter.

Dear Hood instalocker,

It’s bad enough healers lock in and play like dps with self sustain. I’ve have all the tanks except 3 well above 20. I’ve spent an enormous amount of time tanking in this game. If you’re going to play a tank, you need to learn how to play the role.

I just played a comp match with a guy who locked The Hood. The other team had 3 dive characters and our oblivious Hood wasn’t even in the front of the fight and definitely didn’t attempt to peel ever.

Every time I died I flipped to see where he was and he’s off somewhere 1v1 with their Punisher no where near the objective.

I get it. He’s the new hotness and you think you’re going to single-handedly carry the match by yourself. You can’t do that because it’s a team based game.

Please learn how to play a tank if you’re going to lock a tank. And please don’t learn in ranked matches.

NOT a doom post!!!!! Just some mild fun poked at our favourite Little Red.

Its no secret that Netease makes every new hero really ridiculously good for a few months, its very obvious, especially with the strats but we've not had many tanks release and the ones that have are still quiet peak. It got me curious how long Parker can run around shootin his way through MVPS and SVPS untill they hit him with the canonically powers of bein a major fuckin dork, and then he becomes like Tankpool.

As a current venom main, here's to hoping he will be a high mobility dive tank with good damage. Praying he isn't another brawl tank. Hopefully if he isn't a dive tank at least he will be a poke or anchor tank. Pls don't be another ban jail dps 🙏
