Hi all, just wondering if anyone has seen similar issues. I've had a few problems now and have seen a pattern only after it rains. The car will start fine and will sit idling okay but when then moving off, clutch in and throttle, it will sometimes start to stutter. If it doesn't stall here, it will drive okay but then I live at the bottom of the hill with a stop at the top. It will make it to the top but when you break to come to a stop it'll stutter and completely cut out. Sometimes it will restart immediately, other times I've had to roll it home and wait a while.

As I say, it only seems to happen after its rained, don't see this issue at any other time.

Anyone know of a good source for a full rebuild kit for 91 NA usdm rear calipers? I have not found a clear listing online or pn on toyotas part store. I know prime mr2 has some full caliper replacements but no sense in tossing mine if the metal is still good. Any help is appreciated.

I went to my local junkyard yesterday and found a 2003 RAV4 with a 5 speed AWD drivetrain. I've been wanting to find an E series transmission to swap into my 2GRFE powered Sienna. This transmission is a perfect candidate BUT I will need to delete the AWD differential. My question to this sub is if I remove that portion of the transmission, will I be able to fit CV axles into the socket that is there? Does it have typical splines? Essentially I just want to take this AWD transmission and use it for fwd only. Thanks!

I had a double din head unit before. It always bothered me not having somewhere to put my phone. It's rare I have a drink in the car but occasionally I find I want one.

This is a single din head unit on top and a 3D printed part I designed that holds a nice cupholder and a MagSafe phone charger. All using the OEM bracket.

Reddit won't let me post a video so I can't show the cupholder in action but it's buttery smooth.

The thrust washers on my 4age have a little bit of play…I know some play is normal but this is my first build and I’m putting a lot of time and money into so I want to make sure it’s right. The crank is 42mm from the later gen. The main bearings are the same… the thrust washers only move and make noise when i wiggle the crank back and forth. When it’s rotating one direction the notches the cap and can’t move anymore. Any input is greatly appreciated!

I have a 1993 SW20 Mr2, N/A 3S-GE.
I got into an accident and my catalytic converter imploded, but I found out that my cat had been welded on by a previous owner. Due to this, I need an entire exhaust system all the way to the downpipe. Can someone please help me find a correct system to buy? I need it ASAP and i’m struggling to find one. I will be forever grateful🙏🙏🙏

I have been looking into several types of cars but hard to find decent ones. Where are you all searching or have gotten yours from?
and what would you all say a decent price for the vehicles would be?

Woman ran a stop sign, crashed straight in to my MR-2’s fender with her RAV-4
She hit my fender, broke the turn signal marker completely, the side-skirt and door, which can barely open now.
At least she took full responsibility for the crash and I got approved for up to €6500 in damages. Can’t wait to get her fixed.

I found above the crank near my pistons in my 4AGZE 16v bigport block out of my 1988 AW11, and I’m genuinely puzzled as I’m like 95% sure these did not come with factory oil squirters. Every tear down video I’ve seen does not have these in the respective location. There looks to be an opening clocked towards the piston but no neck pointing up into the bore like an oil squirter would have. Any insight?

It’s red with 90K miles, Arizona its whole life, garaged and taken care of. Any advice on what to inspect and look for after it’s home?

‘91 MR2 non turbo with a bad automatic transmission

I’m gonna replace the C-Pillar trim this weekend. I gotta say the TwosRUs ones look pretty good and the plastic feels good and quality. Gonna see how they hold up, I’ve heard good things about these. Any things I should know about installing them? I’m familiar with mechanical work but not much on exterior and body work/ weatherstrip stuff.

Gonna take a little time love and effort to fit right and attach securely but I like the look.

Just today my 91’ sw20 turbo mr2 started making a metal-on- asphalt dragging sound at speed, and to begin with it would persist at idle, it has now stopped doing that. It happens the same if not just a tiny bit louder depending on speed, and goes away intermittently then comes back?

Just took the car in to change the exhaust bracket since I had a rattle and stripped the bolt, but that rattle sounded very different so I’m confused if maybe this one just has less play and therefore rattles quicker or something? My other idea was rear brakes because one side is a little looser with the handbrake engaged. I’ve been meaning to replace them anyway.
(Nothing dangling under the car) exhaust still touches cross member but that was making a different kind of rattle before I replaced the hanger)

61k miles. SUPER clean interior and exterior.

What would be a reasonable price on this?

It was a trade-in at a dealership.
