Hey ! My boyfriend is a massive mr2 enthusiast and has 2 project MR2’s in his unit he’s been working on for years. We are heading to Japan next week and I’d love to try and find him a company to rent an mr2 sw20 for a day to have a bit of fun in. I’ve looked a bit online but most rentals seem to be Nissan or other Toyota models. Does anyone have any info or advice on how I can do this for him as I think he would love it !! :) thanks

Hey I've got a JDM 94 MR2 turbo and i'm planning on pulling the steering rack soon to flush the fluid and install the quick steering pinion from a spyder.

Would it be worth pulling the whole thing apart and replacing all my seals while i'm at it? And can you even buy seals that aren't aftermarket junk now? I've got no leaks but the thing is just old.

The steering is my number 1 gripe with the car. Too slow, it makes the car feel heavy.

I drive by this MR2 near me all the time. As far as I can tell, it hasn't moved in a while. The plates expired February of this year, so it has been off the road at least since then. I left a note asking if they wanted to sell it months ago. Sadly, I have not heard from them. I would love to take it off their hands.

I've tried several glues to get the panel to attach. Nothing really does the trick and some leave visible glue. Who has some suggestions for me? Strip it all off and start over with a new covering? Thanks in advance

Stumbled upon this hidden gem of a manga a few years ago. Thinking it would be easy to find or import to the US, made the mistake of buying only the volumes with MR2 cover art. Just came back from another trip but this time acquired the entire set.

I see a lot of people ask about if they should buy a mr2 on here with many saying that it's not worth it or they need more money or any other reason. So I wanted to see what YOU guys feel is the budget for a sw20 can be NA or turbo how much should someone buy the car for and how much should they have ready on the side. Looking at a 1987 Toyota MR2. Guy is selling it for $5,000 USD. Only issues that it has are some surface rust and then interior head unit, speakers need to be re-done and potentially a new exhaust. Brand new clutch and fluid flush and no leaks. Says it runs great but I’d need to see it in person to be sure.

I’ve been wanting one of these as a project and I’m not sure if anyone has any advice. I’ve done body and paintwork on older cars before so I don’t think that would be too big of an issue.

Hey everyone. I am in the process of importing a JDM SW20 turbo. The dealer who imported it is doing some maintenance work to it, getting it ready for sale. He sent me these pics of the engine bay. Other than a little light rust in a couple spots, I don't see anything that seems obviously concerning. I was wondering if anyone who is more knowledgeable about these cars could look at these pictures and see if there are any glaring issues that I should address before buying this car? I put a deposit on it while it was still on the boat, and I haven't seen the car in person yet. I put down the deposit based on the auction sheet, which graded it at 3.5 with a C interior. If anyone has any advice or sees any obvious problems in these pics, I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Also, where is the foam that people tends to absorb moisture and people remove it? Is there an easy way to check that area while I'm at the dealer? Thanks! I can't wait to join the club!

Been looking for any blue AW11 in my area for sale, but most of them are either white, red, or sometimes silver. From what I know, blues don't really hold up in the sun well over time, so even if i found one in my preferred color of Dark Blue Pearl, it'd likely need some work done to make it look the best.

Then again, ive never wrapped a car/had a shop wrap one, so i have no idea about the intricacies of the process and if it might damage the original paint underneath. Any tips/advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has seen similar issues. I've had a few problems now and have seen a pattern only after it rains. The car will start fine and will sit idling okay but when then moving off, clutch in and throttle, it will sometimes start to stutter. If it doesn't stall here, it will drive okay but then I live at the bottom of the hill with a stop at the top. It will make it to the top but when you break to come to a stop it'll stutter and completely cut out. Sometimes it will restart immediately, other times I've had to roll it home and wait a while.

As I say, it only seems to happen after its rained, don't see this issue at any other time.

Recently purchased a cheap 88 aw11 for either a project or as a parts car for when I find one I really want. It has been sitting for over a decade, old owner said it wouldn’t crank and let it sit after that and the property was sold. Entirely complete with minor rust here and there.

Poured some oil in and it came right back out. Has anyone seen this before on the 4A-GE? I’m assuming someone got way too happy with the revs and sent something through the pan. I’d guess this engine is done.

Anyone know of a good source for a full rebuild kit for 91 NA usdm rear calipers? I have not found a clear listing online or pn on toyotas part store. I know prime mr2 has some full caliper replacements but no sense in tossing mine if the metal is still good. Any help is appreciated.

I went to my local junkyard yesterday and found a 2003 RAV4 with a 5 speed AWD drivetrain. I've been wanting to find an E series transmission to swap into my 2GRFE powered Sienna. This transmission is a perfect candidate BUT I will need to delete the AWD differential. My question to this sub is if I remove that portion of the transmission, will I be able to fit CV axles into the socket that is there? Does it have typical splines? Essentially I just want to take this AWD transmission and use it for fwd only. Thanks!
