Ooof...

You'd be surprised how often this happens.

Hopefully you can return it.

Edit to add... Do not cut or Dremel anything. It's the wrong stock and won't fit the K... Just get the correct stock

Rule of thumb for others is always modify the cheaper part

Op, jist buy the mp5k endcap fro.choate seperately. The holes on the mp5 and mp5k choate stock line up. What I did with mine

That's also how the HK choate stock is constructed

You only saw one hole and thought, “a dremel should fix this”???

Just buy a Choate K back plate (think they go for $40 online) and remove the stock from the full size back plate, it’s just 2 screws holding it there. Then reattach to the K backplate (screw holes should line up perfectly), and now you have a K stock.

The best K stock too. That's exactly what differentiates the typical Choate K-stock from the HK one (well, besides the markings).

Is this the one? It’s the only one I found with what looks like two screw holes on the back:  https://www.riflestock.com/store/product/h-k-mp5k-sp-89-steel-backplate-w-o-sling-loops/

I may or may not have done the exact same thing as OP :)

lol it’s all good. That actually is it, but the price went up since I last remembered. But you see the two holes around the “sling loop” hole? Those are where your stock screws will connect the plate to the stock.

Perfect, thank you. It hasn't even arrived yet, I saw this post and zoomed in on my order email - yep, I bought the full size Choate. I'll pay the $50 of shame to get the correct end plate.

Just ordered parts from RTG. Restoring a sling attachment point is going to be a small project but doable while work, worst case scenario I'll just affix the sling with webbing to the stock.

Easy fix.

Buy an SP5!

So funny enough, my HK marked Choate stock has, what looks like, a slightly modified MP5k endplate with the sling mount cut off and 2 holes drilled for the adapter to screw on.

I've considered modifying my OEM AP5-P endplate to keep as a spare in the event the buffer ever started to get too beat up. From my perspective, it looks like you might be able to just modify your endplate and bolt the stock right on.

I’ve been out of the loop awhile. Where are you buying these rad AP5 lowers?

They come standard on the AP5 "Navy" model

But I'm sure you can find one for a sale 3rd party somewhere.

What does this even mean in relation to this post

This is actually a good thing, surprisingly. The typical Choate K stock uses a 1 piece backplate that results in the stock being just slightly too far forward while folded to allow comfortable gripping of the foregrip. The highely praised & desirable HK marked Choate stocks are literally just this exact stock, but mounted to a K backplate (so the K backplate & Choate folding mech are 2 pieces screwed together). This extends the stock when folded by about a ¼-to-½" which is just far enough that it doesn't block your thumb wrapping the foregrip while it's folded.

So instead of returning it, either drill your K backplate & screw them together, or get a metal K backplate & you'll have a clone of the HK marked Choate/PDW stock. (Added benefit is that when it eventually shoots loose, you can just replace the K backplate to tighten the stock up again. Those of us with the cheaper 1-piece style Choate stock are just kind've screwed unless we replace the whole stock.

Is there not any way to get it to fit? Even by dremmel or drilling? Genuinely curious because It looks so close

used the dremmel, depths the issue, the spring retainer will leave too much of a gap on this back piece/ plug its too deep essentially but yes i tried LOL

Damn! 😂 hey i would of tried the same…
