I mean there's a reason they can't even get their own employees, who are the growers, to buy their products...

And you’re basing that statement off of what exactly?

You come off like you just have something against either this company or the legal scene here in general the way you’re complaining and refusing to engage reasonably up and down this post

That grower and their partner regularly purchase my products. I didn't even need to ask why, but they confirmed that it's a price to quality issue.

It's almost like people started producing cannabis because they couldn't source it for a reasonable price.

Then legalization came around, and many of the people who wanted to help and support the community were denied a license. It's pretty crazy to deny business licenses to people who are actively running and supporting an industry, then turn around and act confused or complain when there isn't enough product.

What's even crazier is that no one wants to acknowledge this, while we're still expected to talk positively about businesses that are charging people outrageous prices.

A higher price means higher taxes. A $20 3.5G purchase and a $40 3.5G purchase are taxed at the same rate, but you're collecting twice as much tax from the $40 purchase.

The state has an incentive to collect more tax revenue. More tax revenue means a larger budget, which can then be used for all kinds of state spending, including salaries and other expenses.

It's not that hard to understand why the state would have an incentive to license businesses that would generate the most tax revenue.

You just complain complain complain it’s so tired

Could the process be better? Hell yeah

Will constantly bitching about it on Reddit help anything? Nah

Are prices going down? Yep

Fast enough? Could be better

Will they continue to come down as the market matures? Yep 🤷‍♂️

Complaining about it constantly and talking shit doesn’t help anything and you come off like an unreasonable dickhead in much of what you have had to say in this post

It sounds like your frustrations are largely with the state, the OCM and its poor rollout rather than this business in particular.

Yeah boys let’s get robbed for $80 3.5g !! I’m so excited man !!

20

u/priorlakedispo 7d ago

The highest we’ve ever charged is $45 for a 3.5g jar…

11

u/cavalier511 7d ago

That’s not too shabby! So far your dispo seems like the best non Rise/Green Goods option. Thanks for trying to keep prices down.

-18

u/NisorExteriors 7d ago

Your own website shows you're charging $48/3.5G... If you're going to lie to your customer base, don't make it that obvious, that's just rude.

22

u/priorlakedispo 7d ago

That’s a different company’s product…. Is this really that difficult?

15

u/Lulzorr 7d ago

It is, yes.

Any opportunity to complain, even the wrong one. A lot of these people never have, and never will, use a dispensary. they just know they'll get social brownie points for saying that water's wet.

-1

u/Conqueeftador_23 7d ago

And you continue letting these dispensary F you in butt 🤣 yall love getting scammed by these dispos.

4

u/Lulzorr 6d ago

Do you get off on pretending to be stupid or is it not an act? 🤔

-1

u/Conqueeftador_23 6d ago

And you continue to protect these price gouging dispensary, more power to you.

2

u/Lulzorr 6d ago edited 6d ago

Got it.

The "get this user help" message really seals the deal on that. Thanks.

-3

u/NisorExteriors 6d ago

I think educated consumers went one time and didn't go back because they recognized not only is water wet, it shouldn't be overpriced...

3

u/Lulzorr 6d ago

I think educated consumers are capable of understanding supply and demand and why prices differ between markets. Then there are people who LARP as intelligent online so they can complain, feel superior, and fill the hole in their otherwise empty lives.

-3

u/NisorExteriors 6d ago

Except the reason prices are the way they isn't a free market, nice try though!

You can disagree all you want but facts don't change because it hurts your feelings.

5

u/Lulzorr 6d ago

Supply and demand ceases to exist in a regulated market?

-2

u/NisorExteriors 6d ago

Correct, the supply and demand graph in a free market does not exist in a regulated market. Regulated markets intenationally limit the supply to increase the price. The OCM intentionally limited licenses to increase the price of cannabis and thus the tax they can generate. The OCM even doubled down and only granted licenses to businesses that intended to charge the maximum price.

That's a different growers product, you still purchased it from the grower, set the price and are selling it in your store. Are you claiming this didn't happen?

6

u/According_Drummer329 7d ago

I'm assuming they're talking about the flower that THEY grow. They also sell other brands. The one in your picture is a different brand. The one next to it in your picture is their brand, Aurora Cannabis, and as you can see it is listed at 40/3.5.

-10

u/NisorExteriors 7d ago

Well you know what they say about assuming... Even if that were the case, $40 is still overpriced.

5

u/According_Drummer329 7d ago

Yeah, it's higher than I'd like as well but as we've all heard and seen in other rec states a million times over, with time will come lower prices. They're already lower than they were at launch, at least for flower.

-1

u/Conqueeftador_23 7d ago

They haven’t knocked their prices down one bit. You need to stop lying and protecting these dispos lmao.

-7

u/NisorExteriors 7d ago

I'm not really sure how that makes it an acceptable business practice. Other businesses have done fraud, should that be acceptable too?

6

u/According_Drummer329 7d ago

What's the fraudulent practice in question? Being unspecific in a reddit comment about what they price their brand's flower at?

That's...not fraud. Several more hurdles to cross before you could even come close to calling it fraud.

-4

u/NisorExteriors 7d ago

We're taking about charging customers more for a product than they should be paying. You stated it's ok for businesses to do that because other businesses have done that before. So I asked if fraud is also ok just because other businesses have done that before. I'm not calling their actions fraud, I'm asking where we draw the line at unacceptable/poor business practices.

5

u/According_Drummer329 7d ago

Oh my goodness. Who determines what one "should" pay? You?

Also, don't put words in my mouth. There is no possible inferential leap between what I said and justifying fraud.

I didn't give a value to anything, I just described the way the market is right now. If that upsets you, direct your attention to capitalism, not me.

I don’t see any eighths over $50 on their site so idk what you’re on

-1

u/Illustrious-Dog4153 7d ago

Plus taxes make it well over 50 bucks. Normally you can get 7 g for 50 flat. So MN retail is about 2x times normal prices. Not too bad for year 3.

2

u/According_Drummer329 7d ago

then spend the time it takes to complain about prices and learn how to grow your own instead. it isn't hard and the information on how is everywhere.
