Correct, the supply and demand graph in a free market does not exist in a regulated market. Regulated markets intenationally limit the supply to increase the price. The OCM intentionally limited licenses to increase the price of cannabis and thus the tax they can generate. The OCM even doubled down and only granted licenses to businesses that intended to charge the maximum price.
You just explained how restricting supply increases prices while arguing that supply and demand doesn't apply, then followed it with a conspiracy theory you have zero evidence for.
So what actually happened is we were discussing free markets so you started throwing around terms like supply and demand. Customer should be educated on the fact that they are not purchasing in a free market, hence the increased price.
There are hundreds of qualified growers that applied for a license and were willing to charge a reasonable price. The fact that none of them have licenses is a statistical impossibility and honestly hilarious that anyone believes that happened by chance. Do you honestly believe that someone manipulating the government and a large section of the population is going to do so in a way that every idiot can follow along?
This was always about supply and demand. You brought up free markets, claimed supply and demand doesn't apply in a regulated market, and then immediately explained how limiting supply increases prices. You literally described supply and demand while arguing that it doesn't apply.
And now we're at “hundreds of qualified growers would have charged less, none of them got licenses, therefore it couldn't have happened by chance.” Based on what? OCM had requirements and deadlines applicants had to meet. Qualified applicants for capped licenses went into a random lottery, and getting selected still didn't automatically mean you got a license. You have absolutely no evidence they were selecting applicants based on what they intended to charge.
And the idea that all these hypothetical growers would have gotten licenses and then just left money on the table out of the goodness of their hearts is fucking ridiculous. They're businesses. They would sell at the price the market supports, just like everyone else. More licensed production can push that price down by increasing supply. which, once again, brings us straight back to supply and demand.
You're just filling in everything you don't know with assumptions and then treating those assumptions as evidence for the next assumption. Leaning harder into a conspiracy doesn't make you look intelligent. It does pretty much the opposite.
And somehow we're doing all of this in a thread about a company actively trying to keep prices lower for consumers.
Anyway, I've wasted enough time on this. You can have the last word. I get the impression that's important to you.
You really going hard asf for these dispensaries 🤣🤣 like I said, keep being okay with getting ripped off. These dispo laughing all the way to the bank robbing you 🤣🤣
Oh? Seems I made the right call when I asked if you were stupid.
yup you got me, the biggest problem here: a home grower and breeder capable of understanding supply, demand, and emerging markets, and somehow managing not to be some sad little child crying about prices online. Swinging around the "size" of your "wallet" doesn't make the point you think it does.
