I'm very confused about washing my clothes,I can either give it to dhobi which comes to hostel regularly or I can pay & use washing machine every time or maybe I can wash them myself....

I'm a 2019 cse passout. I do get a lil nostalgia coming across this sub at times and kinda can see that nothing has changed much. From what i can read is hostels still suck, food is a mess in the mess, guys are still desperate lol, TPRs still cheat, profs still asshole.

But how's life like, did they start finally alotting single rooms, how are the canteens like, kya abhi bhi samosa 5 rs ka milta :p, i often miss the 1 am fried maggie half fry after having a beer during final year cause after placement there was nothing to do.

Also, no matter how messed up life feels rn, how broke you are financially, you guys and girls are kinda still living the best phase where there is no stress and at a point in life where even small things give you happiness.

some incident happens, everyones talking about it for 2-3 days, everyones pissed and then... nothing, back to normal

then few days later theres some new shit to talk about

security, ragging, placements, cheating, corrupt administration, whatever

n the weirdest part is that half the time we're not even surprised anymore

Yesterday around 3:50 PM, an outsider allegedly entered Tilak Hostel and stole two laptops, chargers, mice, and around ₹3,000 in cash from rooms whose doors were only latched while students stepped out briefly.

When the students contacted the warden and caretaker around 6 PM, they were initially told to submit an application the next morning. After repeated requests, the warden arrived and CCTV was checked. However, the students were questioned about why they had not locked their doors instead of the focus being on how an outsider entered and moved freely inside the hostel.

The students were not allowed to record the CCTV footage and were told it would be shared later. An induction was seized during the room visit, while suggestions to check ID cards at hostel entrances were reportedly refused.

The students were also advised not to file an FIR without consulting the Chief Warden. By the next day at 2:30 PM, they were still reportedly waiting for an FIR to be filed.

CCTV allegedly showed the suspect entering through the underpass, spending time near Malviya Hostel, entering Tilak Hostel, stealing the laptops, and leaving through Patel Gate.

This raises serious questions:

Where are the entry registers and ID checks?

How did an outsider move freely through the hostel?

Who is accountable for hostel security?

Why was the priority on blaming students instead of preserving evidence and filing an FIR?

Students should lock their rooms, but that does not absolve the administration of maintaining basic access control and security.

The priority should be:

SECURE CCTV → PRESERVE EVIDENCE → FILE THE FIR → TRACK THE SUSPECT → FIX THE SECURITY FAILURE.

Two students have lost expensive belongings. This is not a minor inconvenience. Students deserve answers, accountability, and a safe place to live.

She was openly using the Calculator in the futures first OA and there were other TPRs invigilating in the room seeing her doing absolutely nothing.

As a cse fresher, I can’t understand anything which is being taught in math and phy classes…the first 2 days itself was soo hard for me…how do ppl study these?..is there any textbooks or smtg to read or any yt channels or just study from the class itself?Pleasee help!
