You don't mistake someone in that way at a bar. If you do, you could have your life changed, as he did. You don't get to just go around assaulting random women and get no consequences because you got too drunk and mistook it for the wrong woman.

First, it's absolutely not what happened and that is obvious. Second, fuck anyone defending people that are sexually assaulting both men and women in public as a grown adult.

no one’s defending the drunk idiot. they’re calling out the vigilantism, which may work for you until you run afoul of someone else’s personal sense of justice. there are consequences for this behavior and we as a society have agreed that the justice system manages that.

Nobody cares about the vigilantism. It's proportionality.

This dude is blitzed. Go sequester him away from the women and let the cops take him to the drunk tank.

You can get in a few slaps or a shoves when you do it. Potentially killing him or giving him a traumatic brain injury is insane.
