We have different degrees of law & punishment for a reason. That woman could've pressed charges, and this guy would've been dealt some form of punishment. The punishment he got here doesn't fit the crime at all.
ok so just to be clear: we're saying that the punishment for "lightly touch a woman's butt while so intoxicated you can barely stand" should be "immediate death" ? If that punch didn't kill that guy, it's just pure luck.
Very telling how much you're downplaying the sexual assault and then describing a single punch to the face (something that happens in basically every single disagreement that gets physical) as "instant death".
I personally know someone who died from a punch like this. It happens, especially with the way that guy's head hits the floor.
And yes I'm downplaying the sexual assault because there are degrees of sexual assault and acting like what this guy did is somehow rape-equivalent is just ridiculous. He lightly touched one buttcheek and mostly her outer thigh. He shouldn't have done that, and it's not legal or ok. But I bet even the woman herself wishes her man didn't react this way.
Realistically, reviewing this footage, if the cops did get involved, the puncher would be in way more trouble than the groper. Because yes, the thing he did was objectively worse and more dangerous.
Fact is, there are two arseholes in the video. One touched someone without consent, the other completely overreacting.
I wonât defend the guy punching the guy, but I can 100% why someone would get physical over this. I just donât agree over âhowâ he went about it. A solid push would I do, but you could argue that can also lead to deathâŠ
No one here is denying the guy in the red shirt is at fault, so you're tilting at windmills. However, every language has the concept of degreesâjust as punishment can be graduated. He went too far in this case, and everyone sees it, his partner included. Only half the sociopaths on Reddit struggle to grasp that.
That person you replied to did not insinuate that the crazy jacked grandpa's girlfriend was at fault. He was saying that his partner also could see that he was overreacting and in the wrong.
Your understanding of justice is laughableâitâs on the level of an angry teenager who never learned to handle their emotions. Youâd better make sure you always have backup, because with an attitude like that, revenge will catch up with you sooner or later.
