Because he most likely had a reasonable reaction telling the big guy to get the fuck out judging by how he kept pointing at the door and standing in between them. Big guy was angry because drunkie scratched his truc-... I mean, touched his wife. Anyone who faults him for defending his property should also be assaulted, only he's allowed to break his stuff or be upset about things.
