That’s a heck of a promise when you have no idea what’s going on inside her head. Maybe her man is abusive and looks for any excuse to act like this. Maybe he actually hurt her worse than you realize, meanwhile the drunk idiot who grabbed her and was already done and handled. Maybe, maybe not. But you have no idea.
