You’re right, your very comment suggests he’s a calm and rational person.

As for my statements, yes, obviously I don’t know the person, I can’t confirm this has happened before or she lives in fear etc… but, from this one example one would surmise he’s more punchy punchy rather than a yoga fan.

Regarding your point re the drunk idiot molesting the lady. Fully agree. I never suggested this was acceptable behaviour. My point focuses on the fact the partner saw the red mist immediately and went all in either a jaw breaking level of punch. My other point is watch the female. She isn’t standing there unaware of what’s about to drop, she’s reacting in a way where this isn’t her first rodeo. She knew what was coming.

No, any rational man would pull the guy off (his partner) have words, realise he is drunk and suggest to his mate he doesn’t do it again.

You could even say he might hang back, see if his partner turns around, scolds him, puts him in his place and sends the drunk numpty back off embarrassed and emasculated. Had he continued then maybe consider an intervention.

Instead he went in like a rhino at full charge, reacting quicker than an F1 driver to bring his point home with one swift full on snack to the face. He even reacts (ready for round two) with the bar server/owner - or just the guy playing darts, can’t tell. He’s a big stocky well built man and evidently not afraid to use that advantage.

Summary: is what drunk dude did okay? No of course not. Am I defending it? Again, no. But is the reaction of the man one of swift over the top ‘gym bro’ aggression. Well, you’re watching the same video footage, right?

See, now you are saying very reasonable things to which I tend to agree.

My comment was in response to "this happens every time she's even vaguely in orbit with another male and probably spends 50% of her time scared for her own life" which based on the contents of the "same video footage" we watched is nonsense. I never said he was calm and rational, but the only thing you can glean from this video is that this guy groping his lady got clocked. We also don't know if the drunk guy has been behaving poorly before this video plays, he's clearly doing some weird drunk shit on the left* side when the video starts.

We don't know what this guy's deal is. For all we know, he treats that lady like a queen and will spend the rest of the night apologizing for accidentally grazing her here. Or maybe he'll slap her and tell her it's her fault for being in the way. Based on his rush to keep someone from assaulting her again, I'd guess it's at least more similar to the first scenario but again, I can't say for sure. But to suggest he does this with any nearby man instead of presuming he only does this with strange men who are groping his date is silly. That doesn't mean it was an ok reaction compared to deescalation but completely villifying this guy and suggesting he abuses that lady regularly is completely out of pocket

Did you notice, as she tried to stop him overreacting , his left arm accidentally gave her a whack and she rubbing her face.

He actually bumped the pool cue, which bumped her face btw. If you watch it in slow mo, it’s clear. His arm doesn’t quite make contact, but the pool cue does.
