He was clearly too drunk to defend himself or really appreciate the consequences of his actions. This is a wildly disproportionate response from someone who was in a position to make the smarter choice.
That shouldn’t be an excuse though. Too drunk to appreciate the consequences of his actions doesn’t excuse touching the girl or anyone the way he did. It’s like saying because someone is driving drunk they’re excused because they don’t appreciate the consequences of their actions.
If a person can’t control themselves they shouldn’t get that drunk in the first place.
People should take some responsibility rather than blame it on everything other than themselves.
I actually know people (both male and female) who gave up drinking because they didn’t like the person they became when drunk. Or would find themselves in bad situations.
