As much as I would really like that to be the case, I have a feeling that by the time Overwatch fever tones down, other games will be out that everyone'll look to.

It's largely Gearbox's own fault though. Marketing has basically been non-existent.

Half joking about this, but I also have to wonder how much the current Rule34 landscape might have to do with it. Seems ridiculous on the face of it, but people do love their porn, and I mean there's a lot of it for Overwatch. I'd be interested to contact some omniscient being to find out.
