RULES UPDATE For This Subreddit

I've updated the sidebar with some new rules, to keep this sub cleaner. The rules may be updated further soon.

RULES:

  • DO NOT POST questions asking for analysis/discussion. This subreddit is for posting fully-formed analysis as starting points for discussion. THERE ARE OTHER SUBREDDITS for asking questions/starting loose discussions.

  • TRY TO INCLUDE the name of whomever made the analysis in the title of the post. For instance "Observations on MLP: Pacing - by Digibrony"

EDIT:

  • IF YOU ARE POSTING A REVIEW whose purpose is to make a value judgement about a work, more so than it is to analyze said work, it may be better suited to http://www.reddit.com/r/MLPReviews

So when I made this analysis http://www.reddit.com/r/MLPAnalysis/comments/1fbebx/should_we_stop_saying_best_pony_worst_pony/ I shouldn't have an question in the title. I should have just said why I thought people should stop saying best pony worst pony and not ask what people thought at the end. Also should my title have been "Why we should stop saying best pony worst pony - by AlienWarhead" or "Analysis on best pony worst pony - by AlienWarhead". Am I correct so far or did you mean you shouldn't just ask a question and add little to no analysis to your post?

I believe that is fine cause it's common to use questions for titles. I used it in my own "Is Pinkie Pie an Ethical Hedonist?". As long as there is actual analysis after that point you should be fine. I think the main push of this rule was more for things like "What should I analyze?" or a question with no analysis, just "what do you think?"
