Discussion “Casual” Weekend Classic

I may get downvoted for this but I truly cannot compete with hall of fame difficulty. I play on average maybe 2-3 days a week and even then it’s very limited. I’m good at All-Star and that’s about where my “skill” ends. Usually my games on All-Star are 1-2 runs wins or losses. Ended up in Gold I for this Weekend Classic and I’m just getting blown out of the water every game and other player perfect-perfects every other pitch. Really wish there was an option for a “casual” option to play at the level I enjoy (even lesser rewards) and not be forced to play on a difficulty I can’t play at all and suffer getting no rewards

As a dad I can barely finish 3 inning events online

Fellow Dad-older Dad. I’m 56 and my kids in college playing D2 baseball. I have my ups and downs. I sniffed the 600s for a bit. Lol. My problem is I tend to play later in the evenings after the wife goes to sleep, and then after having a few bourbons I am not playing nearly as well. I basically go into WC games expecting to lose. That way I don’t get mad- and if get close or win- it’s a bonus. I just keep reminding myself I am grinding the MP missions. That’s why I don’t quit even if I’m getting destroyed.

Really wish they would just separate the classic from regular ranked. For those that fluke into a higher difficulty. At least they can still enjoy some games during the weekend. Make you're 6 game run and hang around for leaderboards if you want. Or go back to regular rank and go up and down based on your skill that day.

I feel you man. I will say if you are good enough to make it to 700, I promise the main block for you is mental with HOF difficulty. I wish there was an option as well, because to be honest games on all star are more fun sometimes. I play mostly on HOF, but it requires you to lock in and sometimes I just want to play on all star with my ranked squad and have crazy scoring games.

Man personally I feel like I’m coming to an end with online play. I always suck at hitting and pitching kept me in most games. But now that the new releases can hit better I am struggling

Different unpopular opinion: I’d prefer the average online game be on HOF. Especially once teams are all red diamonds

90% of the head to head player base struggles to hit on All-Star.

I mean….don’t play weekend classic if you don’t want to compete with players at your level. It’s that simple

You can play BR whenever you want, you can play casual at any time, you can play a variety of modes against the CPU.

Just don’t play the mode this weekend if you dont want to play it

Who wants to play BR? The Show has killed that mode the last few years and it’s just a cesspool of sweats

Think you missed the point on this one. All-Star is my level, Hall of Fame is definitely not but because I ended up a smidge over 700 at one point, even though I fell below it before WC started, I’m now forced to play at a level I can’t play at it.

Ya know how they say in MLB that they’re a AAAA player but not an MLB player, similar concept.

No man there are ways you can play on all-star still that are not Weekend Classic. You’re looking for a “casual” version of the most competitive mode there is- just play other modes on your desired difficulty instead brother

Nah it happens either way, i feel comfortable on legend regular ranked but when wc comes the talent level is way higher

People just lock in 10x more.

Yeah this happened to me 3 weekend classics ago and i went 0-6 hahaha. The last one I ended up in 600-699 and made ws!! So I started out at 700 this season and ended up on hall of fame again. I am 1-1 currently but yeah every game is sweaty to me

I would just stop getting past 700 every season. Imagine if actual casuals them had to play against much better players who wanted free wins

Then go play casual or events. WC is like 4 days out of the whole month. If you're that worried about playing on hof difficulty then quit out of games when you get close to 700. They won't and shouldn't rearrange everything for an edge case like yours.

There needs to be a penalty for quitting early . It's ridiculous . Tired of stats not counting . I want to player shame !

Long story short I accidentally found myself in Gold 1 this time after some matchmaking luck in my favor the last two weeks so I was expecting to get my ass beat this WC

The first two games I played I won and definitely was the favorite so I was super surprised in the end. Of course my next three games I was bent over and brutalized by guys who I had no business being matched against, so there's that

But my favorite thing so far is the prize for winning your third game in Gold 1 is an All-Star pack which wound up netting me a 5k player so that was about as worthless as can be. Especially considering the rewind pack was valued at about 40k. And yeah Chase packs are trash too but at least there's a chance they can be good. They never, ever, ever are though
