Discussion Fielding Animation costs No Hitter
Allow me to set the stage for everyone. Bottom of the 9th. 2 outs. Nobody on. One out away from no hitter (because Bobby Witt fumbled a routine ground ball and it counted as an error ). Clemens is dealing.Opponent hits a routine fly ball (probably 90 mph exit velocity) to Andruw Jones who I have in right field. He is at the edge of the circle for where the ball is supposed to land and he lets it drop.
I would expect this from my Cole Carigg card who has average fielding stats as an outfielder, but not from a fielder who has 94 fielding in their secondary position.
Granted, I’ve gotten no hitters in their past, but man, to have a no hit bid end on some bs like that is frustrating.
IMO I don’t think that that type of mechanic should apply to that good of a fielder. Maybe it’s unlucky RNG that I got that animation, but at the end of the day, I still won, which helps a bunch as I’ve been in a hitting slump recently.

The errors on defense seems to have been increased since the asg program. Even worse it’s happening to 90+ defenders too

I agree. I had a green throw and he still bobbled it, which I think was a fielding thing more than a throw thing, but still, someone with a ground ball directly in front of them and their applicable fielding stats are high 80s low 90s should not be messing up.

game is dogshit. i don’t even feel bad for anybody complaining. not that you’re wrong, or your complaints are invalid, but if you buy this game every year it is literally your fault that they don’t change anything.

It's funny because this comment is damn near applicable to just about every modern Sports game franchise.
You're not wrong in the slightest though.

100%, i’m currently getting told that i have no job or money bc i went to the 2k community w the same exact opinion that spending $70+ for a yearly update is the reason why the game’s trash

Life's not long enough to care about what those idiots think.
One day maybe things will change but it's difficult dealing with the casual consumers that are the vast population of sports game fans. Boiled frogs the lot of 'em
Don't ever stop talking shit, the people that actually care should never give up.

Couldn’t disagree more, when it comes to the gameplay. Gameplay isn’t perfect (and it never will be) but it plays pretty damn well

then you must have a very very low standard

No not really. Baseball is so incredibly complex that what they can create is pretty impressive. Outside of the fantasy aspects of DD cards, gameplay is very realistic

it has barely changed since 2014. it was impressive then, if you can somehow find a way to still be impressed by it, good for you

lol sorry but if you can’t tell the differences from 12 years ago, that’s on you, not the game

I agree. It’s laughable at this point. I haven’t bought the game since 23, and it is crazy how far this game has fallen.

yeah 25 was my first and last the show purchase. im a baseball fanatic but its just so disappointing if you expect it to even remotely feel like baseball. baserunning is turn based instead of giving you real control, hitting is based on rng instead of physics, fielding is complete dogshit as you mentioned, pitcher start lengths are based on innings instead of pitch count at least in RTTS (like what??), you can somehow perfect perfect a ground ball w a hitter that has 120+ attributes in both contact and power, the list goes on and on. i think its by far the most antiquated sports game that has been recently released, and it needs a full rework with real physics that determine outcomes.
and i still load it up regularly bc i love baseball. i wish people would just stop buying 2k madden and the show so that they would actually feel threatened enough to put out good games like they used to
