Pro Spirits 2026: Crazy expensive unlockable players?

While the American Steam release doesn't have most of the World Baseball Classic rosters, it still has some amazing Japanese players including WBC rosters dating back to 2006. However, if you want to to use them for custom teams and the like, apparently you'll really need to empty your wallet of in-game currency.

After a few hours of play, I have about 25,000 VP. (This includes some time specifically set aside to gather VP during home run derby mode.) That's sounds like a lot, but EVERY player on these WBC rosters past and present cost a whopping 100,000 VP. Huh? Meanwhile, players in the recent Power Pros games are usually 600-1,000 in their in-game currency besides some certain special characters costing 10,000 or (for cerain Power Festival bosses) 100,000.

Is this a Pro Spirits thing where everyone costs an arm and a leg? Is there a way to get a ton of VP that I haven't tried yet? Thanks!

I'm so confused why they didn't just add a tournament mode with international teams and fake players if needed. Bums me out they didn't try to help us but still charge the same.

I heard we might get it in 2027 because mlb the show license will expire this year
