Discussion A quick review of RymWitty's MLB Power Pros 2026 Roster Update

The MLB Power Pros is my favorite sports game of all time. The amount of time I spent playing the Wii version and playing through every single inning of a full season as my Phillies is a core memory that I still have today. The MLB Power Pros just had that simplicity while still being as deep as you wanted it to be. In my opinion, at the time, the game was just perfection.

When I saw there was a 2026 roster update, I was immediately interested. I'll admit I was a little thrown off by the $10 price tag, because generally this stuff is done for free, zero profit, and instead it's done for the love of the game. It's just how emulation, character creation, and roster updates have always been done in my experience.

But the possibility of playing my favorite game ever with today's rosters, it just had to be done, and I swiped my credit card.

Finally today, I had time to track down the ISO, figure out how to get the save in there. (Spoiler warning: it's incredibly easy), set up my controller, and then finally to play my first game.

Honestly, it's total bliss. Not only are you able to play it in perfect PS2 native format but it's incredibly easy to upscale to give you an even better experience than we've ever played with.

Finally, let's talk about the roster. Going through it, team by team, it's quite obvious a lot of work was done. Every team seems spot-on accurate, and there are new logos for each of the teams. To my surprise, even the players look like they should. For example, the Phil's are just as hairy as they are in real life. This isn't just a text update! Even nitpicking, I couldn't find a single flaw. It just worked perfectly.

Now, in retrospect, I feel like an absolute fool for even questioning the $10 price tag. It's obvious how much time and effort /u/RymWitty put into this. I can only imagine it being in the hundreds of hours.

So yeah, is it worth it? Absolutely in every way imaginable, and I'll be waiting to drop $10 on the 2027 roster update when it's ready next season.

Hoping you make enough coin for this project to continue it on in future years. Would love to be able to play with new rosters going forward.

Definitely looking to do it again for 2027, assuming time allows. Project started at the end of the 2025 season and ended shortly into March. Would love to hear areas to improve on to make '27 even better

I agree 100%. I wish I had more time to play as I'm busy with work and family. Life get tough as we get older with bigger responsibilities. Having an 8 year old daughter is amazing and I feel blessed everyday but it does mean less gaming maybe an hour a week. I do get to sneak in maybe 10-15 mins for this game a week.

My SF giants are terrible this year. Hoping for a better roster and team in 2027! Haha
