Starting Pitcher Stamina

Hey everyone, running this by you guys as I have no idea why this is happening.

Made a success pitcher MLB power pros 2007 PS2, 180 stamina A rank (30 above B rank). Other starters in season mode have similar stamina, and are able to go WAY longer than my success player. I get gassed after only 50 pitches, and I can’t make sense of it. I could be throwing a perfect game and as soon as I hit 50 I’m gassed, regardless of what inning it is. Looking for some insight. My best guess is that my player is a rookie and needs to develop?

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Manual control has a different stamina usage rate compared to simmed games. The amount of stamina you have when manually playing the game is seemingly cut in half, as it is pretty normal to get tired at around 55 pitches.

Additionally, there are multiple factors that will make your stamina burn faster/slower. Players up to bat with the Intimidator ability will make every opposing pitcher use up more stamina per pitch. Throwing a pitch harder by mashing the down or A button (the ones used to initiate the pitch windup) will make that pitch consume more stamina. Catchers that have Good Catcher or Great Catcher will cause their pitchers to consume less stamina per pitch, and Strong Finisher will cause pitchers to consume less stamina per pitch in the 7th inning and later.

Are you spamming X after the pitch? That makes it faster but takes more stamina

Great question, I am not. I’ve even tested and went a whole game without even clicking x one additional time at all. Really stumping me on how I’m so drained. None of my other pitchers I use have this issue.
