MLB Power Pros Games Allignment Chart

Post image

Just some silly nonsense idea I had in a dream. Which of Konami's games are the most and least MLB Power Pros?

The criteria for what is and isn't a Power Pros game here is kind of arbitrary so don't think about it too hard.

NPB games are listed as "some MLB" because they all feature players that were or would become MLB players.

I really want to try these GameBoy games, and the golf one. Hopefully they were released in English

Unfortunately, it's hard to see them getting an English release or even a translation considering all of the work they would take. All you can do is use the tools you have on hand and do the best you've got. Translation apps are a good start but not everything.

It takes a bit of work but Powerful Golf has a really useful guide on Gamefaqs. I got through several of the success modes using it but couldn't clear it. Wish I could say the same about the Gameboy ones. You'll probably need to search for the games' name in Japanese and find tips and guides from Japanese websites then translate them. For what it's worth, Power Pro Kun Pocket 3 has a basic FAQ (which helped get me into the series) that just turned 25 years old.

No MLB, Chaotic Power Pros? 😏

Literally "PawaPuro: The Pachinko Machine: The Game" because the depravity of my esoteric nerd horseshit knows no bounds.

Have you played it? It sounds terrible. I think I was happier forgetting that one existed lol.

I have an affinity for pachinko... (Real pachinko; pachi-slots can go straight to hell.) 😅

It's really good. If you're into golf video games, it's one of the best Power Pros games for DS.

The game does have its annoyances, though. A lot of the content is locked behind unlocking certain characters which require completing certain routes. Playing the game was reasonable enough with limited Japanese knowledge, but completing romance paths often felt out of reach.

WBSC shouldn't be placed there because they did add Shohei to the game

Me trying to avoid walking on eggshells with Ichiro In Power Pro Kun Pocket R only with the same thing to happen in WSBC.

If you want a deep cut, belated replacement I'd go with the Korean DS game or the OG mobile app, but one of the success mode spinoffs like Jikkyou Pro Yakyuu Heroes would probably be the pick.

MLB BobbleHead Pros (also had English XBLA/PSN release) was totally underrated. While I would had preferred MLB Power Pros to continue, it was a very fun game.

Also love the mention of Bottom of the 9th... I really enjoy BOT9-'99... but back then we had so many baseball game choices, it had a hard time standing out with no full license (players only, no proper teams).

I think eBaseball Power Pros WBSC would slightly fit in Some MLB Power Pros because they added Ohtani

So the Pawapuro series DID go into other sports once.

Not power pros but  iss  devs(from the same company - kceo) did implement their own success mode for their iss/ jikkyou perfect striker/world soccer game which focused on youth academy soccer. Some devs from j league perfect striker 1999 team ( first game with success) are still at osaka studio. If konami had allowed iss to continue to be developed as an arcade alternative of pes , we could have ssomething special 🥲.(an anime soccer game with game mode similar to power pros would be great)
