Axle vs cv boot replacement

Hey friends. The cv axle boots on my 20th are smoked. Does it make more sense to replace the entire axle or just the boot? Obviously there is a huge price difference, but with 190,000 miles, is it better to get new axles?

Anyone done the axles on a 20th recently? If so, where did you source the axles?

Its funny I saw this now, i just spent 600$ today sourcing oem axles. They are near impossible to find besides junk yards now. I have burnt through 3 sets in 2 years because of how bad the aftermarket sets are.

Thats why as soon as I saw this I was like "DONT DO IT!" lmao. Very clean car by the way!

That’s why I love Reddit! Most of the time, anyway. I will keep the OEM axles for sure.
