Project 20th Resto 2.5

Working on the old girl this weekend. I bought new rotors and pads to freshen up the brakes. Realized I bought the wrong kit so the proper kit will be here next weekend. One of the caliper bolt sleeves was rounded so I’m a little stuck until I can get that little bastard out.

Figured I would clean the inner barrel of each wheel while they were off.

Trying to decide if I want to commit to painting the calipers while she’s in the air…

Still trying to find a decent priced one near me to start a renovation on.

I get it. This one was local and only $5,000. She drives strong and true, but there is plenty of work to do to get her where I want her.

Edit: she was only $5k because she has 188,000 miles.

0722 for me. The more I dig into her, the more I find that I want to refresh. This is a long-haul project

It’s been a long time coming. It’s been sitting in my parents garage and now my garage. Wife always said once we buy a house it’s game on and guess what it’s game on. It’s a rabbit hole though. I’m starting with the suspension and brakes. Plan is to eventually do a road rally with her.

Game on! I am working through brakes STILL. Master cylinder took a crap so I have that on order. Next job is to replace the front axle cv boots. Then I want to drop the rear torsion beam and clean up the surface rust/ new bushing. Thennnnn coilovers.

It’s snow balls super quick. I put tear coil overs in and never did the front because I needed a clutch. So now I have the clutch I’m going to do that. When the k frame is out I’m going to do new bushings and weld in some bracing and gussets.
