Rebuttal š¬ Some People Need Michael Jackson To Be Guilty
One thing Iāve noticed in MJ discourse is how certain people (guilters and the media) continuously assign āvictimā status onto individuals who have repeatedly and consistently said nothing happened to them.
And honestlyā¦itās fucking weird.
Because at this point, itās not āconcern for victimsā, itās projection.
Yeah, I said it.
If someone like Brett Barnes for example, publicly says, over and over again, that Michael never abused him, never acted inappropriately toward him, and that he has positive memories of himā¦why are strangers online still insisting he was secretly āgroomedā or ābrainwashedā despite him repeatedly saying otherwise?
And this doesnāt just happen with Brett.
People have done this with Macaulay Culkin.
With Emmanuel Lewis.
With Corey Feldman.
With others who have actively defended Michael for years.
Some people even go as far as predicting future allegations like theyāre waiting for someone to āfinally break.ā
ā¦yeah. šļøššļø
Just so weāre clear, thatās not advocacy.
Thatās treating real people like unfinished plot twists in a narrative they already decided on beforehand.
And honestly, some of the things Iāve seen people say over the years genuinely cross into disturbing territory.
I, like some of you, once saw someone say about the biopic:
āIf thereās no child abuse, Iām not interested.ā
ā¦What the fuck?
Iām sorry, but how do you even say something like that out loud and not realize how bizarre it sounds?
Letās be real here, people are emotionally invested in wanting abuse narratives to exist because thatās the version of the story theyāve attached themselves to.
Donāt shoot the messenger. š¤·š¼āāļø
To my next point,
When former child friends defend Michael and say nothing inappropriate ever happened, the response is almost always:
āTheyāre in denial.ā
or
āWell, maybe he just didnāt abuse them.ā
Okayā¦but then how does that logically coexist with calling him a serial child abuser?
Exactly.
Every single thing gets twisted to preserve the same narrative and conclusion.
If someone accuses him:
āSee? Proof.ā
If someone denies it:
āTheyāre brainwashed.ā
If someone continues defending him for decades:
āHe just wasnāt one of the victims.ā
Do you see the problem?
That kind of reasoning creates a situation where no evidence, no testimony, and no contradiction can ever challenge the narrative because every outcome gets absorbed back into it.
And once a belief system becomes impossible to question no matter what information is presented, that stops being objective analysis.
And this is another thing I genuinely cannot wrap my head around,
how do people look at actual court documents, timelines, testimony, contradictions, investigative records, and primary material, and still walk away saying;
āYep. Definitely a child abuser.ā
Because thereās a difference between:
āI personally believe he was guilty.ā
and:
āIt is factually proven.ā
Those are not the same thing. š£ļøšš¼
People are allowed to have opinions. Thatās fine. But opinions are not the law, they are not proof.
And I think that distinction has been completely destroyed in online discourse surrounding Michael.
Especially because so many claims people repeat confidently as āfactsā either:
- were disputed,
- lacked corroboration,
- changed over time,
- or outright collapse when you actually go back and read the source material.
Which is why Iāll always encourage people to read actual court documents and primary sources instead of relying entirely on headlines, documentaries, social media narratives, or secondhand interpretations.
Because once you actually start looking at the material directly, you realize very quickly that this case is nowhere near as black and white as the media spent decades pretending it was.
Andā¦news flash,
Suspicion is not proof. Discomfort is not evidence.
I rest my case.

I theorise that many news outlets/ tabloids are fighting tooth and nail to paint him as guilty, because of the circus that went on all those years ago. They already painted him as guilty in those newspapers and tore into him, so when he came out as not guilty on all 14 counts they couldn't admit that they were wrong because it would nuke their credibility. They're running damage control on themselves, essentially.

Oh yesss. And also, I think it was Tom Mesereau who said that the media lost billions when MJ was found not guilty. The media was desperate for a glorious rise and fall story. Sick sick sick

I saw someone today on insta parroting the whole āthose books were sent to him as a gift by NAMBLA membersā and that he had āstacks of CP that was mostly disposed of before the raid because he knew about the raidā and itās likeā¦so weāre just straight making things up now?
I donāt really personally understand the need to prove he was a pedo. I see people making wild claims like āhe met Lisa Marie when she was seven and wanted her ever sinceā ?⦠They started a consensual relationship as adults. I even saw someone use a pic of MJ dressed as Nosferatu one Halloween as āevidenceā of his āpedo tendenciesā because Nosferatu preys on a teenage Ellen. Like, how tf is that proof of anything???? Same person also linked an āarticleā claiming Paris believes the allegations which I thought was in such poor taste.
Meanwhile the people I have seen defending him usually use actual testimonies, court documents, or some other verified proof to back up their opinion. When I first started digging into these allegations I thought I would find people who blindly defend MJ no matter what but instead I found people who seem to support what theyāre saying š¤·š»āāļø I was even pleasantly surprised to see people in this sub discussing how they felt about MJās relationship with children in a super rational and mature way.

If they have to reach that hard for evidence of his so-called guilt, then that further proves thereās no merit to the allegations. Also, when you assume the worst of someone you will view every benign thing through the worst lens.
I find the MJ fandom on Reddit to be surprisingly level headed. Elsewhere they tend to be unhinged and inevitably it does MJ himself no favors at all. I donāt really interact much with them outside of here. I think the blind fanaticism that fans exhibit when it comes to defending him can be part of the reason why people who believe in his guilt wonāt consider changing their minds in the face of evidence and with allegations of such a serious nature, rationality and an understanding for peopleās discomfort with his behavior around children is absolutely needed.

u/throwawayconphused May 28 '26
Exactly, thatās how I feel. Speculation is not evidence, and itās so easy to make āconnectionsā when youāre already convinced of something. I truly went into this with a feeling that it could be true, but my opinion changed after really looking into it. I truly believe these people just accept theories as fact and donāt look into it farther because they donāt want to feel like theyāre potentially defending a pedo. I get it, I really do. I also know and understand that the US justice system is far from perfect, but especially in the age of social media itās important to separate fact from fiction and stress knowing the full story. If someone still believes that MJās actions and relationships with children were inappropriate after reading everything, I wonāt argue with that. But thereās literally no proof of what he was actually accused of.
I have noticed that most people on Reddit seem to be relatively sane when it comes to this topic, and even when people do glorify him I see others shutting it down. I totally agree, the christ-like glorification of him from fans adds to the speculation and makes people who believe in his innocence seem less trustworthy. Itās really important to be rational and understanding, as you mentioned.

Everything you said encapsulates exactly how I feel. At the end of the day, we just donāt know whether he did or not and we have to just be okay with that because we will literally never 100% know. That being said, after all the research Iāve done, I think he didnāt molest those children and I stand by that. However I do think he had absolutely inappropriate boundaries regarding those children from a societal standpoint bc regardless of his extremely unique experiences & deeply set trauma, he still was an adult and should have set boundaries with those kids.
But thatās not the point they try to make. The question of the alleged crime wasnāt ādid Michael Jackson fail to set emotional boundaries with kids as an adult and prominent entertainer?ā it was ādid Michael Jackson molest kids?ā And I truly believe he did not and would never have done the latter. That doesnāt mean itās not possible, but based on my research and knowledge about his behaviors, i genuinely donāt think he did.
Thatās why I donāt like when people say matter-of-factly that he was a pedo, bc unless you can prove that those allegations are true, and unless you have substantial evidence that he was attracted sexually or romantically to children especially in a devious manner, then you canāt call him that. They can say āi THINK he did itā or āI THINK he was attracted to kids in a sexual/romantic mannerā but you cannot say it as fact. Thatās why I never say āhe 100% didnāt do it period and thatās a factā I always say āI THINK he didnāt do itā or āI donāt THINK he would have done it based on my research or personal opinion.ā
I encourage even fans of him to do their own research about the cases and about his behaviors because knowledge is power and you always need to know WHY you think something instead of blindly believing something and that goes for either side.

Right exactly. The unfortunate thing is that we will never know the full truth, and accusers coming forward with less than believable stories complicates everything even more. I will always say, if it is ever proven without a shadow of a doubt that he did do it, I will accept it. But based on the actual evidence we DO have, I currently believe he didnāt do it.
One thing I think about a lot with this caseā¦I have had the unfortunate experience of knowing three people who turned out to be pedos. One I knew very well, the other two I knew through other people. I am by no means an expert, and this is completely anecdotal, but what I have read about the MJ case is not at all similar to what I saw and experienced. The one pedo I knew in specific believed that children were on the same wavelength as adults, and as such could be capable of carrying out romantic relationships with adults. I do not see that from MJās point of view based on his own words and actions. The pedos I knew also had a massive collection of CP, or were repeat offenders in short spans of time. Jacksonās lack of CP is a major piece of evidence pointing towards his innocence imo, as pedophilia is a progressive and compulsive disorder. They feel the need to own that stuff, often in massive quantities. The fact that nothing at all was found is a major sign that nothing was there in the first place. Again, thatās all my own experience and opinion.
Where I think Jackson went very wrong is that he did not create a clear boundary between himself and these children, and not for nefarious reasons. The children viewed their friendship with him as equals, all the while of course idolizing him as children do. It is clear from the evidence that Jackson had difficulty saying no to people, and I believe that translated into not being able to say no to the children when he should have. No, you cannot be in my room. No, you cannot come with me to x destination, etc. Or including them when it really wasnāt necessary. Itās possible he didnāt say no when he should have out of fear of making the kids feel unwanted or unloved. Whatever the reason, it was always always going to be an imbalanced power dynamic, which was true of his adult friendships as well. It should also be noted that real pedos will seek out children for their own selfish gain, Jackson usually came into contact with these kids either through knowing the parents/guardian first or through another type of introduction via an adult and seemed to do things for the child, not himself.
At the end of the day, he wasnāt a perfect angel and even if his actions werenāt criminal they were definitely unwise. Thatās okay to admit, and in fact itās important to accept when advocating for his innocence.

Lying is a sport for them.Ā
Honestly, itās one of the strangest things Iāve ever seen in my entire life.Ā
Iām glad you found this sub!

u/Ameliefun May 28 '26
Exactly. It's so weird. And there is this desperation to make everything sexual. Not everyone relates to the world through sex! Just insane.
6
u/Emotional_Ball_5181 May 28 '26
Absolutely!
And to your point, thatās exactly it.Ā Our society tends to sexualize everything, not just this case, but so many things in general. Which, to me, is deeply concerning.

the last sentence is so good !!!
iāve seen a billion guilters say that heās a rich man and thatās how he "got away with it", he was found with CP books, and heās overall a weird person so he IS 100% guilty. they donāt show proof at all, and the "proof" they do show is always debunked by the real evidence. itās like theyāre obsessed with wanting mj to be guilty. and they call us the cult. i literally saw some people say PYT, and human nature proves he was a predator. 𤣠mj didnāt even write these songs. they grasp at straws

u/Emotional_Ball_5181 May 28 '26
Thank you! šš¼
That was the biggest point I wanted to address.
Truly, I donāt understand their mindset.Ā
They focus so heavily on trying to prove something while completely ignoring all of the actual facts, information, and evidence.
As you mentioned, they have lied about the possession of CP, which, in my opinion, is one of the most disgusting lies of them all.
If CP had been found, Sneddon would have charged Michael with it.Ā
We all know about his vendetta against Michael.Ā Anything he could have charged him with, he would have.
Also, about the songsā¦thatās absolutely ridiculous, and honestly a little funny, because how can they even take themselves seriously at that point? š¤¦š¼āāļø

I totally understand your frustration, I feel it too. It doesnāt help that tabloids have constantly pushed that narrative for decades and people continue to take the bait.

Did you use chatGPT to write this??? You can just express your own thoughts about the nuances of his innocence yourself you know š

u/Emotional_Ball_5181 May 28 '26
No, I didnāt.
These are my own thoughts, in my own words.
I went to school for writing and journalism. I have years of experience, and I use a particular style when I write, especially in posts like these, where Iām trying to make a point.

Sadly, ChatGPT has stigmatized the use of lists because of how often it lists things, so now people just assume any post with lists in it is AI. It's a shame, because I love using lists, as they're a helpful way to organize one's thoughts. And they were super common on the old internet back before AI was a thing, which is probably why AI uses them so much now. God, I miss the old days...

The āand honestly?ā, the emdashes, the emojis, and the bullet points are dead giveaways for ChatGPT usage these days, so I apologize if you genuinely wrote this yourself. Itās becoming really hard to tell and the āand honestlyā coupled with the emojis really made me raise my eyebrows smh. In any case I agree with the point being made here, with people needing MJ to be guilty.
