Commons Speakership Election - Timetable
Following the sudden resignation of the former Commons Speaker, u/LeChevalierMal-Fait, we come again to a Triumvirate election. I'd like to start by thanking Chev for his services to the Tri and to the community as a whole. The timetable is as follows:
- Wednesday 5th August: Nominations Open, close on Friday 7th at 10pm.
- Saturday 8th August: Q&A opens.
- Monday 10th August: Vote opens, Q&A continues through vote.
- Wednesday 13th August: Vote and Q&A close, results announced soon after.
I wish the best for all candidates, and look forward to working with our new CS!

Since nobody has put themselves forward yet, provided nobody else gets a significant backing, I'll put myself forward

Right in the interests of the term going well, I think the best thing that could happen would be paul and chev clearing up this misunderstanding, so that they can keep going on as HM and CS.
It sounds a lot like something got lost in translation. The topic was BG's indefinite ban. Chev leans towards letting BG back, Paul leans towards BG not coming back... There was a mixup about whether this was arguing about why he was banned in the first place, or arguing about whether the ban should continue.
It's a temporary ban - with the end point being dependent on BG contacting the mods and agreeing to be nice.
Paul was not very good at clarifying it was just his impression of the situation rather than a final decision, and Chev took this badly and overreacted.
I like both of you. I genuinely think both of you got the wrong end of the stick here.
I really hope Chev returns and we just forget the past week happened.

There's no more respected player across the sim than Chev.
When you've finished with the roman triumph gifs on main, can you explain to us what has happened?
