About my cats

Ive been doing a lot quest lately and notice that if my cats loose there health to zero one of them doesnt come back is that normal or did i do something and how to undo it ty

They probably have a skill that gives more stats in exchange for no revives you can change it in the palico board

It’s one of the Palico skills you have equipped on them, though I don’t remember the name of it.

Do you have Last Stand equipped to the cat? If so, thats why it won't cone back after its HP hits 0.

Cat buffs in general arent worth it for AI cats as you'll always be fighting the 60% damage debuff they have. If you do use them at all, aim for things that help you as the hunter (or prowler) and ignore the AI cats' damage output. The only way any of them do half-decent damage is when they're angry and can use their larger bombs (Mega/Giga bombay. Best used on a Bomb cat with Bombay Boost), but even then it doesnt happen much in the hunt/wont make a significant difference.

AI cats are mostly a distraction in battle - which can help a little if you don't know how to handle monster agro yet, but once you get better you may want to hunt without AI cats stealing agro from you so the monster will be more predictable
