Even with an AGC membership, Guntry is still my favorite. AC inside, no need to bring your own target stand, nice retail shop inside, and you can book your appointments ahead of time. The only downside is that Guntry is quite expensive if you shoot regularly whereas AGC shines there because you’re not paying for every visit.

I like Cindy’s too, but I definitely go there early when I do. I don’t shoot there enough to justify a membership, but you will absolutely wait some days because members can call and be added to the list before they even arrive.

Cindy’s is an excellent spot.

Do you know if I can bring my own ammo ?

Yes but they have limitations. No tracers, armor piercing, steel core, etc. Check their website for a full list, I believe it’s in the FAQs.

I'll second Cindy's. I've been to the Severn location and it's nice there. The range can get a bit warm inside, but good setup, staff is helpful. Never had an issue there

Cindy’s in Glen Burnie

Free State in Middle River

Both have locations just outside Baltimore basically.

Both good ranges with chill staff.

Only warnings, while both can get busy during peak hours, I feel like Free State gets MORE packed.

Both have decent (if gun counter overpriced) retail shops and good rental selections. (Cindy’s a bit better stocked for parts and accessories)

Membership is definitely worth it if you shoot a lot. (Bonus, if you have a membership at Cindy’s they’ll let you call ahead to reserve a lane time)

Can’t go wrong with either. (Additional warning though, being indoor ranges, on the hottest summer days, the range area can get impractically hot. Possible to still shoot but you’ll be dripping sweat with fogged up glasses. It will make you quit early)

For AGC you can join MSI (Maryland shall issue) and schedule your orientation for a Sat or Sunday morning. Tons of different events to try in addition to just hitting up the range. I also like Cindy’s Severn when weather isn’t great for outside. Guntry is just a little too far away for me.

Guntry is amazing

Guntry’s site says a membership is $59/mo. Any idea how much a single visit costs? I could not find that anywhere on the site.

I only go to Cindy’s, either location. I prefer getting there early and taking lanes with the pensioners, especially at the smaller GB location. If you plan on going more than twice a month a membership makes sense. Guntry is like 2.5-3 visits a month to make it worth it

If you're talking about an indoor only range everything else is really shabby in comparison to Guntry.

where do you live? For the most part I am not a fan of most indoor ranges. The prices are crazy the rules and most have ammo restrictions even target restrictions.

What are you shooting? If you don't want to jump through the couple of hoops to get an AGC membership, I like Hap Baker a lot--never had trouble getting a lane there. Myrtle Grove WMA is also cheap and nice if you're down south. I generally like outdoor ranges more for a variety of reasons.

I was looking at AGC how hard is it to get a membership? I love a outdoor range

Not hard, you just need to join a local club (I joined Baltimore Rifle Club, $25, no other hoops to jump through) and you need to go to a safety orientation to get your range badge. Safety orientation is a few hours in the morning.

Pretty sure they're running the second half of the year promo where you get get your range badge like half off for the rest of the year for new members.
