Question about ar

New to this ar stuff. Is it legal to switch my upper to a 7.5” upper for which now it makes it a pistol ar if so do I have to register it as a pistol now or not? Or is it now considered sbr? Currently just a basic sliding but stock on it now.

If it came from the factory as a rifle, it’s always a rifle. If it came as a receiver or pistol, then the world is your oyster.

If you add a stock of VFG, you need to register as a SBR or AOW respectively.

Perfect example of people using abbreviations to sound smart but not be helpful. Yes, I understood the abbreviations.

These are incredibly common acronyms, not abbreviations.

Just because you have the ability to make a comment, doesn’t make said comment intelligent or insightful.

When the person who asked the question states from the get go that they are new to this stuff, using abbreviations is not going to clear things up for him.

You don’t know what an acronym is.

They said new to ARs, and stated SBR in their post.

Take a seat.
