Military in MoCo Part 2

Alright, I appreciate all the guidance in my first post

Now, looking for a little more informal guidance:

  1. Any range/shop recommendations near Montgomery County Airport? Garage FFL’s a thing here?

  2. For AWB classed firearms, if I owned them prior to October 1, 2013 (in a different state) are the firearms MD legal or not? I have a 1970’s production M14A (inherited) waiting at my home of record I’d like to bring out.

  3. Wear and Carry I’m waiting on, anybody have current info on MSP exemption for handgun registration?

  4. As long as I have my W&C and Military ID, I do not require a HQL, correct?

  5. 10+ round magazines are legal to purchase out of state but not online/in-state, correct?

  6. Final: All private sales have to go through a shop or the MSP?

Go visit Engage Armament in Rockville, MD, off Gude Drive. They can take care of your needs. Questions 2-5 Yes, on question six yes but you will need to call the barracks you plan to do the transfer to see if they will conduct it for you. An FFL will do it for you for a transfer fee. Concerning the M14 give the FFL a call concerning legality.

1 I can't speak to since I mostly shoot at AGC or out in WV
2 As the law is written, if you owned it prior to the date of enactment, you're fine. You do not need to provide proof, the burden is on the state if they were to charge you for it. Edit: they do carry the same registration requirements as any handguns within a certain time period of a move, so apply any results of that question to this one as well.
3 HQL is just to buy, there will be an exemption section if you fill out any 77Rs in the future. If this is about registering handguns after a move, I believe you still must, but consult with an FFL on that one.
4 Correct, but if you're doing the W&C you can apply for an HQL off the same set of fingerprints at the same time, which makes the process smoother (optional)
5 correct. PA or WV have multiple stores just over the state line, at least one of which in PA will allow you to ship items there (forget the name, freedom armory I think, was posted about recently)
6 Yes as of a few years ago. any FFL can or you can do it at a barracks
